Thanks for joining the second iteration of Geriatric Trio!

I've become quite a fan of this setup and I think the Geriatric Ruleset will help a lot in this and make for a really fun game! It did last time!
I might make these games semi-regular as it's a simple setup that still gives a lot of variety and maybe can be a staple Geriatric setup with enough time!

General Gameplay and Etiquette:

1. Read these rules. By asking any questions that can be answered by reading these rules, I reserve the right to point and laugh while answering.

2. Play to win and have fun! I don't know why these are always mutually exclusive in rule setups. Just enjoy and don't be a jerk! Good luck!

3. You may not quote private information (either real or fabricated) of any kind. This includes information discussed in any private chats, neighbourhoods, PMs, etc. Paraphrasing (for role claims, etc.) is acceptable. If you are unsure, ask first.

4. There is to be no personal communication outside of the forum postings unless your role PM specifically allows it.

5. If you have a role with a Night action, your choices are due to me by the posted deadline. If I do not receive your choice via PM or via Post in your PT by the posted deadline you will forfeit your actions. A simple “No Action” PM or post makes it so I'm not worried you forgot to send me something.

6. As a general rule you should aim to post a every 24 hours, minimum, to keep the game moving. I know some of you like to lurk, but don't make a habit of it please. I will prod players after 48 hours of inactivity. If you do not respond to a prod after 24 hours, I will start searching for a replacement. If you are prodded 3 times within the game, I will prod you after each 24 hours of inactivity, with no grace periods, and replace as necessary.

7. No invisible, impossibly small, or encrypted text. I feel this is a given though.

8. Don't edit or delete any posts in this thread.

10. Basically, follow all Site Rules.

11. Per recent events, and in an attempt to propagate an inclusive site culture, I ask that all players refrain from using the word "lynch" and all related terms while playing in my games. I understand that slips will happen, but I would ask that you make an active effort to keep them to a minimum. I do not plan on force replacing people over this, but if I feel you are abusing the terminology, I will send out warnings and I will force replace without much second thought. You have been warned.

Voting, Deadlines, and Player Death:

1. This game will have public voting with 14 day deadlines until the start of day 3. From then there will be 10 day deadlines. If a majority is reached early, the hammer will fall and that person will be eliminated. If no Elimination is secured by deadline, a NoElim will occur.

2. Night phases will last 48 hours throughout the game. All actions must be submitted to myself (Aristophanes) by this time.

3. Please submit votes as: VOTE: PlayerName or

Vote: PlayerName

 in the thread. Votes will NOT be counted if they are not Bolded or Vote Tagged! Obvious abbreviations or nicknames will be counted so long as they are unambiguous. They will also not count if they are spoilered. A spoilered vote is a joke vote in the eyes of this Mod.

4. Please submit vote revocations as 

Unvote: PlayerName

 or UNVOTE: . Unvotes are not necessary before changing votes.

5. You may vote for a "NoElim" if you would like. Unlike for a regular hammer, it takes half of the players' votes in order to succeed.

6. Once majority is reached, the game enters twilight until I post a death scene or lock the thread (obviously); all players including the one who was eliminated may continue to post during twilight.

7. You may post one "Bah" post after death so long as it contains no game relevant information.

Game Specific/Geriatric Rules:

1. This is a Modern Trio setup, so be aware of all possible setups!

2. Every player is allowed a maximum of 10 posts in a 24 hour period. In the 24 hour period immediately preceding a deadline, players are allowed a maximum of 15 posts.

3. 24 Hour Periods start when the day starts. If, for example, D2 opens at 11pm EST, the posting period also starts at this time.

4. Every player starts with a reserve of 20 additional posts. Any posts above the daily limit are subtracted from this reserve.

5. Players who deplete their reserve will receive a warning. Any further infractions after that will incur mod punishment.

6. If a player has hit the daily limit and depleted their reserve, they are allowed one naked vote change per 24h post-reset period.

: As written, this means that once your reserve is empty you may only change your vote once for the remainder of the phase. Can you clarify that this is what you intended?

I took that directly from the Geriatric Ruleset, however I believe that it should be a naked vote per post-limit-reset, or every 24 hours.

I will amend the rule in order to clarify that.

@mod does my post limit reset ever 24 hours? im not super familiar with geriatric but playing this hoping it will imrpove my ability to make posts that are more rich in content

Correct. Your 10 daily posts will reset at the same time every day of that phase, determined by when that phase began. For example, D1 started at 8:30pm EST and thus every day at 8:30pm EST the daily post limit will reset.

If it is the final 24h before deadline, that will be extended to 15 posts.

In the event that you have used your daily posts but still need to post, you have a reserve of 20 posts which will never reset. Once used,they are used.

I gave this a lot of thought considering replace-ins and I am going to grant a reset to the Reserve Posts for a slot upon replacement

After a long day of doing crosswords and getting mad at young people on his lawn, bugspray decided they'd check the obituaries. "You never know if you'll see an old friend in there ya know" they thought to themselves. They never Hoped to see any old friends in there, but it was always good to know so they could pay their respects.

Sure enough, there was a familiar name.

"That's what I said!" Datisi replied. But they were lying.

Anyway, after a long hard fight for the remote, they both had heart attacks and died.
