The Rules

• ONE: FUNDAMENTALS
  • All site-wide rules apply. Read and respect them.
    
  • There is no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
    
  • Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, backup-moderator, or fellow players. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
    
  • Be courteous and respectful to all your fellow players and the moderating team.
    
  • Play to your Win Condition.
• TWO: DAY PHASE
  • Each Day Phase shall have a deadline.
    
  • Votes must be in the format of VOTE: PlayerName or
    Vote: PlayerName
    , or they shall not be counted. Abbreviating someone's name is acceptable, so long as I can discern who you were voting for without trouble. If I think it should count as a vote, it will.
    
  • Unvoting is not required, but is much appreciated.
    
  • Once you have reached a simple majority (half of all living players plus one) that person's fate is sealed and they shall be exiled. Unvoting cannot change their fate.
    
  • If half the living players approve a No Exile (
    Vote: No Exile
    ), then no player shall be exiled and the game shall enter Night Phase. If deadline is reached and no one has received a simple majority of the votes, no one shall be exiled.
    
  • Once a player is exiled the game enters twilight until I arrive and post a death scene. All players may continue to post during Twilight.
    
  • Please post at least once every 48 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded. If you fail to respond to said prod within 36 hours, you will be replaced.
    
  • If you get three or more prods, or fail to respond to a prod by posting in thread within 36 hours (or by PM if at Night), I will begin seeking for a replacement (this means the third prod functions like a notice that you are racing the search for your replacement.)
    
  • A deadline extension may or may not be granted; just ask.
    
  • Votes and Unvotes shall not count in Twilight.
• THREE: NIGHT PHASE
  • The Night Phase shall last two days.
    
  • All groups with Private Topics (PTs) will be able to converse during the Night Phase.
    
  • Any role or faction with night abilities may choose to use them by PM-ing the mod with their choice.

Not only this, they have tempted another with their evil wiles, drawing them to the dark side. Aka: The first mafia member was randomised start of game. Everyone else received a town role PM. The sole mafia then proceeded to recruit their partner from the rest of the players, who was given an updated PM and a link to the factional thread. Outside of this and posting restrictions, this game is confirmed to be all vanilla in terms of power.

Spoiler: [/spoiler] The Octopus is the first to awaken. His glub glubbing wakes up the nearby Tiger, who was resting nearby the gigantic water tank. The Tiger is not happy at being awoken and lets out a ferocious ROAR, scratching at the tank's glass in an attempt to break inside. Soon, all of the animals are awake, and a chorus of colourful sounds ring through the Menagerie.

Around them are grassy fields, with a forest visible far off in the distant, and mountain peaks barely in view beyond it. The dog is a little distressed by the unfamiliar surroundings, and starts chasing the cat around to relieve some stress.

Spying the tiger down below at the base of the trunk, she pecks at the twig holding the beehive in place, causing it to plummet down below onto the unsuspecting wildcat. At first, the tiger roars in anger and surprise, but this quickly transitions to fear and pain as the bees mercilessly prey upon him.

The cheetah lets out yelp which could be interpreted as a snicker, and the tiger is not impressed. He strides over to the cheetah and locks him in a death stare, daring him to yelp again.

As the tiger and cheetah stare each other down, a faint growl emanates through and pierces the tense silence. The tiger frowns and after giving the cheetah one more look of disapproval, turns away to investigate the sound. He soon finds the source of it. Spoiler: [/spoiler] This Milktank looks like he means business. He uses a Defence Curl , seemingly readying himself for the tiger's attack. The Tiger ROARS , hoping to lower Miltank's defence. Little does he know, the Milktank has plans of his own. The Milktank uses what looks like the start of a Tackle , and the tiger begins to roll his eyes, but midway through, it quickly transitions into a Meteor Assault . Spoiler: [/spoiler] The tiger is launched far into the air and is sent straight down into a large cage lying in the centre of the Menagerie. The tiger is trapped, and has been condemned.

Suddenly, a dazzling bright light washes over the Menagerie. You feel yourself splitting apart, as if the very fabric of your being is being torn into a million pieces. This unbearable sensation lasts for a few moments, but it soon fades, and the feeling is replaced with clarity and contentedness. When the light is completely gone, you look down at yourself and see unfamiliar features...

Spoiler: [/spoiler] As dusk falls over the land, the animals in the Menagerie realise that they've all been transformed into new forms! The used-to-be-tiger panics as he turns into a dolphin and starts flopping around in the empty and alarmingly water-free cage. This only lasts for a moment, as the floor of the cage opens up like sliding doors, plunging the dolphin into a clean pool of water. Meanwhile, a rat appears in the octopus's water tank. He squeaks in fear as he quickly realises he no longer owns any gills and is quite deep underwater. At the same time, a roaring dragon rises into the air, a collar around her neck displaying the name "Miso". Miso the Dragon RUMBLES and engulfs the tank with flames, evaporating just enough water such that it allows the rat to stand in the remaining shallow pool. He collects his breath and scampers up the side to safety. It is unclear whether this was a rescue mission or a failed assassination attempt on the dragon's part. Spoiler: [/spoiler]

Spoiler: [/spoiler] The dragon swishes through the air, showing off her fantastic wings. She is completely unaware of what is to come. The elephant, dolphin, rat, snow leopard, and cat all look at each other solemnly and nod. Without warning, the elephant TOOTS his horn, giving the signal to the snow leopard to leap gracefully into the sky. The cat riding the snow leopard's back launches herself off as the leopard reaches the peak of her jump, closing the gap further between herself and the dragon. As the cat hits even greater heights, finally, the rat springs off her back, and makes a perfect landing onto the dragon's back. The dragon RUMBLES in rage, but it is too late. The rat scampers straight into her ear, and sends her into a panic. The dolphin clicks and she plummets towards the sound in confusion and crashes straight into the pool of water inside the cage. The cage locks shut, sealing her in, as the rat quickly and stealthily makes his escape, easily fitting inbetween the bars. Operation Dunk the Dragon was successful, and Miso the Dragon has been condemned. Spoiler: [/spoiler]

I know not what has forced us into this situation in this mysterious land, but I want to make something absolutely clear. Tayl0r Swift pauses for dramatic effect. TOOT A giant contraption manifests inside the cage, appearing out of the ground. A mechanical claw grabs PookyTheMagicalBear and despite being in his powerful tiger form, he can do nothing to resist it. The cage opens up and Isis runs out while in her cat form. Pooky is attached to a giant firework, which is aimed towards the skies. He stops struggling once he realises it's pointless, and looks at you all, a sad smile on his face. It's okay. I forgive you, even for this. I love you all and will miss you dearly... goodbye. Right on cue, the firework shoots into the sky, travelling far into the heavens and beyond the clouds. You decide that you're asking too many questions and that fretting now is pointless; after all, whatever happens in the morning is tomorrow!you's problem anyway, nothing to do with today!you. With that comforting thought in your mind, you fall into a deep sleep.

She lies in the grass, completely still and unmoving. She... isn't breathing. A short distance away, there lies Kanna in her bat form. Beside her is a very ecstatic bat, Kanna squeaks in delight as she glides besides the nightingale. Looking around the rest of you, you notice golden wisps of light surrounding Isis and PlusJOYED. Meanwhile, strong red bonds link you all in pairs. Isis is linked to Not_Mafia, Ydrasse to Loki, and PlusJOYED to Tayl0r Swift. Isis is... Spoiler: Town [/spoiler] PlusJOYED is... One among them had played with the strings of fate, Revealing a puzzle with no malice nor hate. Isis rejoiced for her friends were all good, Kanna and Dru two treesstumps in love. NM moo'd and wondered where he was, Loki resumed his attack on TSwift. They decided through painstaking debate, Ydrasse must hang, the hour grew late, Loki protested, stamping his feet Drusilla persisted - her brilliance shining through. Spoiler: [/spoiler] All alone at the edge Ydrasse felt cold. Her heart was not in it, it had been stolen long ago. A silly tiger had come up with a dumb idea, To take a rocket ride into the night sky. A shimmering portal opened nearby, A stupid looking tiger walked in with a bouquet of roses, He laid them at her feet, a sheepish grin on his face "I'm sorry for the games, I'm just here for my love" With that they turned and fled the Menagerie. Away to whatever weird place they had come from. The animals rejoiced for the day was won. They partied till dawn so happy and fun!

I apologise for not making it clear that scum had daychat, Isis's policy of making everyone acknowledge they do in role confirmations is one that I'll be using moving forward. There was a lot more hunting in this game based on townslips than I would've liked.

drusilla entering her final form to nail scum in the post restricted phase is pretty great, maybe the site meta in future will become "everyone post restrict themselves and only post in animal sounds so that drusilla can find scum day 1", but seriously, I could understand a lot of what she was saying/conveying and that was impressive in of itself.

The mafia didn't even play badly this game, I think Pooky just hit a very unfortunate target in Isis to duel against on day 1, and then it was always gonna be an uphill battle from that point for Ydrasse.
