Suggested ground rules:
Tracker/Vig chooses Tracker.
Hider tonight will target player immediately above them in the player list. So if they die we can nail 1 scum.

Eh I don't care much for hider agency - the first time I played this setup the hider had agency and did nothing and we lost. With this approach we get a guaranteed inno/guilty on Night 1, plus the other PRs. Hypo-claiming presumably increases the risk that scum can kill the hider or more quickly identify the hider, compared to my proposed approach. It's as good as random anyway, so who cares. In post 16, Isis wrote:I'd prefer if people hypoclaimed their hider targets, that's how it's always been done every open setup I've ever played with hiders. if anyone actually did this, I would support an automatic policy-lynch for playing against town wincon. I'm confident it won't happen though. In post 30, Bambi Jay wrote:If I'm the tracker/Vigi I'll take my time to shoot Battle Mage tonight.
Frankly Tracker will only be good if you trust your ability to only catch one scum out it and then die. At least with Vigi your garunteed 2 shots going through before you die.
Vigilante is the superior option because at least then the mafia Jailkeeper would have way more urgency jailing them instead of of randomly finding the other TI.Show2020 Stats - 31 completed games:

my last game was vigilante themed - 2 town players had the ability to vig kill each night. scum won with a clean sweep on Day 3. if you canvassed players in that game, i'm not sure they'd tell you being a vig was more fun than being a trackerShow2020 Stats - 31 completed games:

My view on this setup is, if town is smart it can either quickly fall in town's favour, or at worst be reasonably competitive and balanced. At best, a vig can be marginally better than a tracker, but the relative higher risk massively outweighs the modest higher reward. So yes, I was definitely trying to take it off the table, because I think it's an anti-town play. Does taking a pro-town stance make me more likely scum? You could make that case. If your argument is instead that I'm scum simply because I'm arguing selecting Vig is bad and nobody should do it, I would kindly refer you to my last Hard Boiled game where I did the exact same thing as town in a defacto leadership role as you described it (hence, in itself, it's certainly not a BM scum-tell).In post 46, Bambi Jay wrote:Sounds more like your jealous you signed up for a Vigilante theme game and didn't get the ability to kill that time.
I ain't arguing a Vigilante isn't swingy, I'm arguing it's a high risk high reward game. Calling it "going against wincon" feels more like your instantly taking an option off of the table town can use. Also in the same post you say you'd lynch the player for not conforming to your style. So it feels more like your a hardballing scum trying to play town leader early. Hence my suggestion for the Vig to shoot you.
I think calling for me to be killed (albeit by the vig) for disagreeing with you is not much different to me calling for you to be killed for disagreeing with me. I don't have a strong view on your alignment from it, but would be wary if your post above was serious (I'm assuming it's mostly a joke).
Anyway, I'm gonna kick back for a bit and return to do some scumhunting later, happy trails!Show2020 Stats - 31 completed games:

A 2nd nightly kill influenced by scum and an impotent hider, rather than a tracker where 2 scum will be moving at night and a hider which can act as a cop. I'm sure though we'll have a great chance of the Vig killing scum if the scum know who is being targetted and can simply direct the JK to protect their team-mate if needed. In post 47, Tayl0r Swift wrote:vig gives town more power and more control over the game. especially if we know theres a vig we can all help to direct the shot.

I'm just being straight man, it's all gravy. if you, or anyone else, picks vig over tracker in this setup, fine. I do think my opinion is best on this occasion, and you are entitled to disagree. It's probably one to discuss after the game if either of us care (or you could consult with the wise mafia gods). In post 154, Bambi Jay wrote:I'm not headstrong enough like Mage to think my opinion is best, I'm offering it as an alternative without telling people it's against their wincon to make the decision without feeling like nobody supports them.
I want Vigi selected, but that's up to the player who got that role now isn't it?
I don't think there's value in arguing it further - for simplicity, I'll just say that anyone encouraging town PRs to make a decision I view as objectively bad, will be regarded by me as scummy for that.Show2020 Stats - 31 completed games:

I mean, this is true, but not good strategy for town, as the CAT rightly points out:In post 283, Bambi Jay wrote:Oh, one week deadline. Fun.
And Mage seems like a player that can handle a wagon on him, he even already said it himself. He can get out of it with his words. Tayl0r not so much probs. If she gets to l-1 I don't see her getting out of day 1 alive, leaving the day without a decent pressure on other slots.
this is a good question. normally i like to wagon some newbs on Day 1 precisely because you're more likely to get alignment-indicative reactions. Elsa Jay wagonning someone and acknowledging it serves no purpose seems scummy at a glance. In post 285, MURDERCAT wrote:Boo what's the point of pressure if you are convinced someone can get out of it?

Do we have consensus agreement to this? If so, useful for everyone to keep track of it (and assume hider will never deviate), otherwise it serves no purpose. If not, useful to have some agreed plan for what we are doing, and probably also useful to get everyone's view on it. So far from recollection it's been Bambi and Taylor Swift pushing the anti-town play - good to know if anyone else is voting for that?In post 7, Battle Mage wrote:Suggested hider plan:
