damn. we no killed last night in the hope that we could use it to get our mafia doctor confirmed town, but i definitely was not expecting the vig shot on me. that being said, i think this puts the rest of the scumteam in quite a strong d2 position, so let's cross our fingers and hope for the best.

that being said, the vig shot right and that gambit did not pay off.

hm. town could have done exceptionally well in this game by just playing based on dayplay and reads. the problem with FL is that he was too quick to townbin ydrasse as the "only explanation for the lack of a mafia kill".

his play was very good this game, but was fooled by a gambit - quite a risky one, but ha i think it won us this game.

shelly, you should get more credit. seems like you often tend to get elimmed early, but your reads are quite good.

oh i know with your push on ydrasse, leaving you alive was risky because at some point or another you'd have convinced the town to hang our doctor and screw us over!

the gambit was the third member of our team's idea, and while i underestimated them at the beginning i was proved very, very wrong. it might not even have been considered a gambit, to be totally honest, because it would have gotten ydrasse removed from the poe pool in any case and the only way it could backfire was if a vig shot ydrasse, which would have sucked but i didn't really think was incredibly likely. that being said, i also didn't think fl would shoot me, so that's fun as well!

nah, looks like the gambit worked. obviously original night actions would have been better, but tbh this ended up working well.

I think if we could play out this game loads of times it's -EV. In this specific game it worked a treat. Most of day 2 is entirely town wagons on town and town coherency shattered despite what should look like a great night 1. And part of WIFOM/having a scum range is not always making the optimal play.

what's -EV, the gambit or our original plan?
