There has really only been only one player in my currently completed scumgames(well one that is completed) that REALLY had me scared and identified something I was doing that was actually a light scumslip from me and that was Varsoon in Nom mafia. Another player offsite got pretty close too. once you get the emulation down it do be annoying when you know youd do something as town and u get scumread for it and people post game are like "hah i caught you here".. no you didn't because that was still my townrange..

My approach tends to vary, but essentially I think my style these days boils down to this: I supply passion and drive whenever the game feels like it lacks it, otherwise I tend to just do my own thing. As for differences in town game and scum game, they exist, but they are so innumerable and circumstantial that it would be folly to list them now. The tells exist only for those who care to look for them.

Well tracy wasn’t answering the question in the post I called out, she was answering koba’s question. And I did say I felt bad about calling out a follow up to my question. But that’s not going to stop me from saying something is scum-indicative. When we move past RVS I’ll start trying to get in people’s heads, and I will likely look back at the answers people have given. If I don’t, call me out for it then.

Like if you’re town, I don’t believe how delusional you must be to think you perfectly understand everything there is to understand about hydras when you just started playing on site and you’re just starting to try out hydraing.

Like, I’ve not been apart of a lot of hydras (Even with more then 2 players in them, hell, I’ve even apart of one of the biggest hydras on site that was had 12+ People in them), but I’ve modded a hell of a lot of games, and was the best mod in 2017, partially because I modded really cool Hydra ONLY games.

I feel like I would understand hydras to know more then well enough that you are just wrong here. If player’s view the game similarly, they will tend to use the same words. It rubs off of people. It’s very easy for both heads of a hydra to use the same phrases.

And that’s because this is a really amazing hydra. Its a hydra where both players are participating and thinking about the game and cooperating with each other. Talking to Taly about reads has been a blast.

This isn’t an experience you will get right away because sometimes hydras just won’t work.

You’re not lucky and you just don’t understand hydras well enough to deduce what is a scumtell and what isn’t.

Between Flea/Gamma I'll need to reread. Both gave me active lurk vibes which I generally don't like.

I don't really have an answer about gamestate, outside of people trying to sell themselves as Town more than they do usually, but I believe that's a by-product of the setup and that it's probably not AI as both town and scum would be equally invested into getting onto the council.

I like gamma’s casual-ness to approaching reads, whereas he tried to look town more in haunted village. I have some paranoia wrt uncrowned and haven’t solidified my outworlder read, so I’m actually most comfortable with gamma as my second strongest TR.

Infinity: Early prodding and questioning is probably more town indicative than anything. However, he's playing far too pockety, much more than I'd expect. I'm interested in where he's getting his MURDER scumelean on, which I'm thinking will be explained in the more recent pages, I'd imagine? If not, then that's just a fake read. The rest of my take on Infinity will be explained in the next section.

How are you getting a scumread from this? Was it just the koba push?

Yeah I just hate getting into 1v1s, and koba can get on my nerves and I just didn’t feel like continuing that exchange. In terms of pocketing, I like to develop positive interactions with my townreads because it helps town synergy. If it felt like pocketing then *shrug*

My murder read is basically at “I need to see the town!murder I know otherwise I’m scumreading him”. I was able to read him as town really quickly in the couple games we’ve played together, he isn’t always immediately towny to me (spectated a game where I thought he was scum for that reason) so I’m giving him a chance. Some other things that pinged me were buddying early on, and a bit of awkwardness when I discussed my read on him around 379. Not the central reason for my read, but may be more useful to you.

I’m still just waiting for solvy flareon mode. If it doesn’t come, or it doesn’t come in the way I remember it, murder is scum. In death curse it took until the last scroll pass for me to get a soul read on murder, but it still happened.

I think this would be a new development in Noraa's scum game, but I was not in her other scum games I just read them for meta. Death Curse was certainly unique in a few ways.

I trust his self-vote for council in 72 because he's not overt in detailing why he should be in the council. This leads me to think his POV is casual and less likely to be manufactured than if pulled to control the game narrative.
203 and 317 are sus' that I think come more from town because he isn't trying to doubtcast the slot itself, but notes why he thinks or feels a certain way about Gamma/OWER/Koba.
His questioning to the hydra was good because despite his view of Koba, he's looking at this hydra in a separate lens, or at least entertaining what this hydra's idea of the games are.
898 doesn't feel like a scum hedge on Noraa/This slot because he seems to be mediating an emotional conflict by not asserting a hard-lined stance around us. Doesn't feel pockety for the same reason.

I actually think her scumread our slot is fine. I don't think anything me and Taly can pump out right away will invalidate her read on koba.

I think the biggest difference between town!noraa and scum!noraa is I feel like scum!noraa will want to paint our slot scummy using whatever means possible and saying I'm overeacting does that. I think to noraa saying that me overeacting is scummy allows her to maintain an ironclad reason to scumread me. If she was town, why would she continue pressing me for overeacting when I told her that I act like this all of the time? This doesn't make sense to me.

Infinity truth is, I panic a lot when I get scumread as both alignments I can give you links but tbh I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two at a point.

Ok I got some paranoia on purple last night because of this. I mentioned that alisae difficulty faking nuance as scum, which is apparently wrong? Then e doesn’t correct me, but immediately pulls out a nuanced read (not impossible from town but still) and flips eir read on me and starts to TR me. It kinda felt like when I said that alisae had trouble faking nuance as scum e thought that I’d be easy to pocket.

I like gamma’s casual-ness to approaching reads, whereas he tried to look town more in haunted village. I have some paranoia wrt uncrowned and haven’t solidified my outworlder read, so I’m actually most comfortable with gamma as my second strongest TR.

When it comes to doctor saves, the amount of kills I stopped is stupidly high for no reason. I can actually provide links but I'm either getting like super lucky or I just know how to use protection roles well.

I don't see why either alignment corrects you tbh. If I'm scum, its obviously better for me to not correct you, but if I'm town, I feel like it doesn't matter? Also you were asking me to go in depth on a read.

I can explain me flipping my read on you though, I think the way you approached my slot compared to noraa was a lot better in that while you still seemed like you scumread me at the time, it felt as if your mind was fairly open. I think in general the whole way you approached me and noraa was kinda townie and I feel like the real time interactions with you are good enough to not warrant revisiting the early pages of the game.

Honestly I’m not the most paranoid player in general. When I’m really comfortable with a townread, I’m generally ok with locktowning them for the rest of the game. That means when I get paranoid, it usually means something. If you’re town, be patient. I think I’ll be able to come to the correct read on you eventually.

I will come back to my purple read later but to sum up: I think the play pattern of see an opportunity to pocket widely TR player -> take it -> push the advantage by trying to get into the council makes a lot of sense coming from scum. The OMGUS and AtE helps deflect suspicion, and it also feels like ali’s reads leave em open to pushing whoever e wants later, which is useful for a strong scum.

I’m feeling better around murder despite not seeing solvy flareon. (That doesn’t mean I don’t need to see it, murder )

Kookie is highly tonal, but also some stuff I can't directly reference. However, I'm aware of Noraa's tendency to hard push on stuff they believe in and that seems like it's being directly replicated here. While I'll admit I'm not particularly a fan of how they've tackled my slot specifically, I can see town motivation. 684 also details some of my feelings towards them.

I skimmed over Purple vs. Noora again and this is where I picked up a lot of the tonal and pushing stuff which I believe is town!noraa indicative. Idk. Idk. The two times I played with town!murder he was transparently town to me. That didn’t happen in death curse at first but it happened eventually in ELo.
