from what I know of Hectic.

He really loves twists, romance, and nontraditional narrative arcs.

so here are some guesses that went through my head about what is actually going on.


The Princess does not want to be married - She does not love her suitor whom she has been promised to, she sees the evil in his heart - he loves not her but power.

The food was stolen for a trip away from the Castle for she will be traveling many leagues to find a New World where she can be safe and free.

She has disguised herself among the castle workers and will recruit those she trusts to help her with her quest - now since a Princess cannot be a

Villain

- I think she is something of the equivalent of a Delayed IC and we are playing something fairly close to a Mountainous Game.

The evil prince has dispatched his henchmen to search for her as he has noticed she is missing from her quarters - the villains seek to stop her escape and wish the wedding to go ahead as planned - they have evil in their hearts - they hope to capture her.

Mech Speculation

After the initial 2 launches, we will have the Princess be revealed as an IC, she will try to form a coalition of 6 that she can trust - this will end in a town victory if it is successful, if not we will move into the Ball Room for a dance game where players will pair up into lover neighborhoods.

Please mafia gods let this be the setup, this sounds freaking amazing. I call Hoppy! <3

also i used to play kindred a lot, they're super fun. at least they were on release, now i avoid the jungle at all costs and play warwick if i MUST. or nunu.

i can see why Pooky thinks Infinity is sorta struggling to justify things. It came off like he was distrusting the thread as a whole's townbloc, but when pressed on it, he explained that he was talking about himself and projecting his concern on the thread as a whole.

I still find other things about Infinity towny. and I don't really think there's scum motivation for casting doubt on the townbloc but not even have any reasoning for it beyond paranoia

Surely this is a good thing to have at least one person questioning the block? Otherwise we get complacent and possibly stop looking at them long term. At least that's my thought. ^_^

i think the entire concept of a d1 townbloc is flawed, although the relative naturalness of it makes me question it far less. gypyx and gloria look town, as do ydrasse and infinity. i'm really going back and forth on pooky, but settling in on a slight townlean on them. hopkirk is still town, and i'm much less confident in isis, so VOTE: dunnstral this slot has been fairly bad from the beginning and has not gotten better.

Reading back from 565ish, I can understand why hoppy is wanting to engage in realtime. OK so lets say there is jester potential... and I actually get serious for a moment [eugh i'm going to need to lie down after this now ]

TGP's defense of Gypyx means their wincon could be:
- Jester who is linked to gypyx, meaning either
- - TGP needs to be lynched first
- - TGP just needs to be lynched before gypyx
- - TGP just needs to be lynched.
The wincon doesn't seem to be two ways from what I recall seeing of gypyx.
If gypyx is a jester, they're playing a long game imo.

The defence could be some weird enabler thing or other mechanic? Going off what potential weird ass stuff I can come up with...
- You win if PlayerX survives D1 and you die [modified jester?]
- PlayerX gains Y ability if you die [I suspect this would've been crumbed]
- Lynch redirection - If you're lynched or killed at all, PlayerX dies instead. [Some weird reflex auto bodyguard mechanic]

and I'm sure others can come up with other weird and wonderful stuff...

The problem for me is I know nothing of the Silent Star games so i don't know what mechanics Hectic has used to mess with his players previously. Because of that my best assumption at this point is to treat this as a "standard" game with a weird day mechanic until we have more information.

If people are aware of the mechanics used then we can speculate on stuff, but like hell am I digging through this again to find mech talk I still got isos to do tbh

Also I've done it in both completed games where I've said I'm going to do something, and then give no indication of having actually done it.

TGP's defense of Gypyx means their wincon could be:
- Jester who is linked to gypyx, meaning either
- - TGP needs to be lynched first
- - TGP just needs to be lynched before gypyx
- - TGP just needs to be lynched.
The wincon doesn't seem to be two ways from what I recall seeing of gypyx.
If gypyx is a jester, they're playing a long game imo.

The defence could be some weird enabler thing or other mechanic? Going off what potential weird ass stuff I can come up with...
- You win if PlayerX survives D1 and you die [modified jester?]
- PlayerX gains Y ability if you die [I suspect this would've been crumbed]
- Lynch redirection - If you're lynched or killed at all, PlayerX dies instead. [Some weird reflex auto bodyguard mechanic]

and I'm sure others can come up with other weird and wonderful stuff...

The problem for me is I know nothing of the Silent Star games so i don't know what mechanics Hectic has used to mess with his players previously. Because of that my best assumption at this point is to treat this as a "standard" game with a weird day mechanic until we have more information.

If people are aware of the mechanics used then we can speculate on stuff, but like hell am I digging through this again to find mech talk I still got isos to do tbh

Wrt skitter/hopkirk, I think she meant that skitter is likely town, but if she's scum she's likely a hopkirk partner. 712 and 722 are where she talks about her gypyx townread. That makes me think, 934 seems like a towny post since she's proud of her gypyx read.

712 doesn't really say much about her read, just that she's curious in why Pookybear might think Gypyx isn't town, and 722 feels more like a passing comment hinting at an evaluation to me :/

I’m trying to deal with the fact that I often have too many townreads in games, and I’m wondering if questioning my townreads early before a wrong read gets solidified will help with that. I’m also affected by what happened in deaths curse.

This is why I'm ISO'ing some people. There's a lot of townie players and I want to try and confirm reads. I had you as prolly town at the time I made the list, as I've gone into this I've gone to yuptown and honestly this is just to make sure I'm not missing something ヾ(＠⌒▽⌒＠)ﾉ [I love that face, it's well weird ]

I think I was projecting my concern about having too many townreads onto the thread, even though I shouldn’t really be worried about others’ townreads as this stage. I did see a bunch of townreads being thrown out but that’s probably not what I was worried about deep down.

Honestly there seems to be a lot of townreads in the thread imo, I don't recall seeing much outside of Dunn/Gypyx/skitter for players who aren't being seen as town.


Meta, scum hunting, town reading... all feels nice and smooth, the tone of the posts isn't changing, points are clear and direct. I'm just over half way as this point and it's been nothing less than warm and fuzzy

I'm pretty much at locktown at this point. Infinity is being like fully transparent in their posts, they're questioning things and attempting to understand everyone's PoV and working with people in the thread. Ok, I did want to talk about this cause I’m still not sure on MT. Yes town re-evaluates based on new information, but there didn’t really seem to be any new information that MT was taking into account. Yes town can go back and ISO someone, but it didn’t seem particularly motivated to me. Scum opportunism seemed like a likely reason to re-evaluate there. Yeah personality could be another reason, but my gut is still kinda bothered by it.

My response to this is I got a townlead go back to solid null when I decided to try and confirm a few reads. Admittedly the hammer sequence did help shift my read on Jessie.

And we're back to damn good, and full transparent reasoning. Infinity's hiding nothing.

Skitter’s posts make my stomach wriggle and squirm and do somersaults. From past experience, this correlates with a high likelihood that she is a member of the mafia.

i think maybe it is just frustration. like i like to think about and talk about setups, and i also think it is useful, and there are plenty of people in this game that can attest to my doing so having been useful in the past, so it is frustrating that you make it out to be pointless

it isn't with you specifically, or really generally either. it is more frustration with myself for ending up in this situation repeatedly. i am sorry if it comes off the other way. it's just that, like once again here i want to explain why that time was at the beginning of the game. i simply do not understand why it wasn't useful then, but then i am just repeating myself et cetera. it makes sense to me but communicating that feels impossible

Different players operate in different ways.
For me I don't have enough information to begin speculating on mechanics, and when reviewing interactions with more information it's useful and when it's there previously it can be used to weigh reads.

I don't know enough about Hectic or Silent Star games to even begin serious speculation.

Honestly until I've reason to think otherwise I'm running on 3 or 4 scum against 9 or 10 town. All town are vanilla so I've no reason to think there's power roles. Elim mechanic being 2 on D1 suggests something mechanical might happen, until that does I don't see the point in speculating.

Essentially, your entry felt forced. Hopkirk's joking around about sorcery and magic and all was natural, and they gave a review of everyone in the playerlist that gave people an incredibly good talking point to begin with and allowed for interactions in low information stage. You responded to that in a way that seemed nervous and jokey and that I didn't love. taylor's entry was problematic because she essentially "attacked" hopkirk in a way that felt overly aggressive and uncharacteristic for what i've seen of taylor, and it created fluff and continued a conversation that was unproductive and did not allow for real further interactions.

Honestly, it really depends on the player. Using extreme examples, someone like N_M has the exact same entry post every time, but someone like mastina (from what i've seen) has entry posts that profess genuine reads on every player that has posted so far. For a player I don't know (like you), a townie entry post would be a post that makes good observations, seems genuine, and/or tries to get out of low information stage, while a scummy entry post would be a post that seems forced, excessively random, an attempt to not tie yourself to your own vote, etc.

Not explained well, personally. These are entirely NAI tells that are being used but if the player puts stock in them, then that's that. I got scumcased for being a little emoji mad (｡◕‿‿◕｡) also I found more of them ☜(0▽0)☞

Gypyx hasn’t done a damn thing so far. I have no idea what they are but TGP is the only player to have them as locktown, why? And even stranger was Gypyx’s response to that. Remember in Death Curse, when Titus made it a point of tr Flea, they weren’t tr her for it. If I haven’t done a damn thing to be tr like Gypyx and another player puts me at locktown, my initial reaction would be why? Why isn’t Gypyx even considering the possibility of it being a tmi read?

i think the entire concept of a d1 townbloc is flawed, although the relative naturalness of it makes me question it far less. gypyx and gloria look town, as do ydrasse and infinity. i'm really going back and forth on pooky, but settling in on a slight townlean on them. hopkirk is still town, and i'm much less confident in isis, so VOTE: dunnstral this slot has been fairly bad from the beginning and has not gotten better.

What I'm challenging is the previous games had room for shenanigans. This one doesn't seem to.

up until now i was kinda thinking you were just unknowledgeable about the prior games but it's been explained to u a few times now how the game kinda like ~changes~ in the middle and it feels like you're just trying not to understand at this point

the natural ~changing~ moment in this game is after the second launch, which hasn't happened yet, so asserting that 'this one doesn't seem to' is premature

first game had no mention of VTs, second said vanilla in terms of power, this one says all town are VT.
I expect a change, I'm just not sure what this change will be and in terms of power there shouldn't be a change... Unless Hectic is about to royally mess with us. At which point, dibs jailkeeper!

It wasn't meant to be. honestly I'm lost at this point. I don't want to take out lurkers as it's LHF and they might get more viable late game, like we've both done previously. If I had to, it would be Jessie right now. simply as my weakest non-lurker read and I suspect that's just because we clash in our style of play and we don't quite vibe with each other. At this stage that's the poorest reason for a vote outside of a nekkid vote. If I'm voting inside the lurkers and nulls I have, I'm rolling a D3 (which I have btw ) or using some loose reasoning between Ydrasse, Gypyx and Dunn.

TGP towncased Gypyx pretty hard, which takes me down to Dunn and Ydrasse. Honestly, I'd call that a coin flip at this point. The vibe from Ydrasse feels good, and I like Dunns defence of himself against TGP.

I'm happy with my town read on hopkirk Jessie and pooky's latest shenanigans of a me gloria infinity scumteam are incredibly far fetched.

gypyx was HEAVILY towncased by another townie. On top of that I can understand that this is a difficult game to get into and when you fall behind like it can become burdensome. You don't want to let the game and the mod down and replace out so you keep saying "I'm going to come in! I'll catchup!" and honestly for a scum aligned player I can't see that as being good at all. Scum have to work a little harder for the win IMO and I believe they know that.

Gypyx isn't in my PoE currently. And for me was not and is not a viable option. Plus I'm not just going to sheep along with my 2 strongest townreads, that's boring honestly, and lazy.
