Inkay's ability can't really be used in secret, unfortunately.

from my reading it's a day ability.

and it can be used in secret, but massclaim is inevitable and unless you can fakeclaim a different species, Contrary would be unique to you.
i suppose it's more accurate to say it'd be difficult to keep it secret if there are flavorcopping mechanics in play/the town ends up being open with species/move use.

Topsy Turvy is unique, i mean.

whereas my rolecop doesn't leave a trail besides the visit, and is much more generic.

anyways i joined this game for Pokemon shenanigans so i'm gonna play it by ear regardless. i think the random factor of battles means we focus on dayplay, but assuming i can both roleblock and use Intimidate on the same night we do have some power.

i'd have no idea how to use Topsy Turvy, but it looks fun and you can nuke abilities with it so it might be worth the risk.

the Twins Rat Power is pretty good if the opponent has shit evasion, since it forces evading.

i forget if this game only has us vs. opponents or if there are PvP battles.

depends on what's public. your Contrary ability and your move are both unique to Inkay (as a main ability anyway), so that makes things tough.

what were your other picks?

i could probably come up with a reasonable fakeclaim, it'd depend on if stat changes and the like are public knowledge.

hey Alisae, during the twilight battle, will the moves everyone used be public knowledge?

i think they are, they definitely would be known to your opponent when you battled a player.

my only thought would be fakeclaiming a move you wouldn't want to use. something like Explosion (kills you but does a lot of damage) or Perish Song (kills you and your opponent but is delayed) might work, you could say you're saving it for a sort of bomb/vengekill.

but it's also not provable, and town would be looking for the player responsible for Contrary.

hm, okay. so theoretically, Vax could use his move in a battle and it wouldn't be visible to amyone else?

alternatively: just use it willy nilly and take refuge in having fun and using it on players who aren't obviously town.

did you know mawile can eat with either mouth? it can't taste with the large one, though, so it uses that to eat foods it doesn't like.

Lickitung fakeclaim:

4 HP 0 ATK 0 DEF 0 EVA (same as Inkay, Lickitungs stats are not standout since it's a gimmick mon like Inkay)

Ability: Oblivious
During battle: Ignore increases and decreases to your stats

Moves: Lick
At the start of battle: Your attack has a 30% chance of paralyzing the opponent.
30% is low enough it could feasibly have never happened if you have to claim.

I'm not great at fakeclaims but this follows Alisae's pattern here as far as I can tell, it's up to you.

I imagine the town probably has those out of battle actions/effects too.

oh, Oblivious actually has to do with preventing attraction, not stats, but i gave it the same effect as Unaware here, which is a different ability with a similar flavour. there are other status conditions not listed but it's banking on Attraction not being one of them. i fudged it, i figure it would be reasonable for Alisae to fudge it too.

Lickitung's other ability is Own Tempo, which prevents confusion, and could also probably work if you wanted to pretend to be immune to confusion.

now that i think of it, Topsy Turvy does not make the opponent's ability Contrary. there are moves that do that sort of thing but nothing unique to Inkay.
i'm not sure how it would go over but you could claim ignorance on why your ability is spreading around.

yes, the roles aren't AI, Vax only considered a safeclaim so he could have a claim while infecting other players with Contrary.

i think Contrarying Mirror slot gives them some towncred after your flip, which isn't technically a bad thing.

though using that on an ML target like the twins or myself probably wouldn't make sense for you to do. (in the fiction where we are town)

We aren't really ML bait any more than the rest of the list is, more so the case after this red flip so like yeah.

The only reason we have been ran up was because people aren't around and going after a low poster.

As long as Nancy is on our side, and inf/gamma on mine we'll be ok.
