Jim very clearly said he couldn't see Cook as scum, but was open to hearing peoples cases. I think people realised they couldn't form a convincing case on Cook based on his unorthodox posting style. They noticed Jim wasn't buying into the potential mislim and scum didn't like people coming up with their own thoughts and opinions. The fact that the very next wagon was on Jim doesn't seem like just a coincidence to me.
DkKoba comes in drunk and places a vote for Polaris, says they want to elim Polaris the most out of everyone, then 5 posts later votes Jim without any explanation. No more than half an hour after, Jim is at -3.
What I don't get is why Cook decided to get on the Jim wagon after Jim was seemingly the only one to disagree with the Cook wagon.
The subsequent Jim vote on Cook seems very OMGUS.
I kinda want to keep who I think are the suspicious actors to myself for the time being.- Facebones

Agreed. This is what I was trying to get at in post 609. Make up your own mind on people instead of voting for players purely because someone else did. Show some independent thought, yo. Vote for who YOU think is suspicious, don't base it on what others think. In post 659, tris wrote:

Also, yeah, this is my first Town forum game. First-game scum is a good experience but it means that anything you do as newbtown immediately looks suspicious since there's nothing else to compare you to.
Fortunately, I have a lot of time on my hands and a lot of patience for this so I'll keep playing and trying I guess.- Facebones

I was thinking why Dk would claim mason and then retract their claim?
Made little sense in general.
I mean, masons are usually a set of 2 town, right? When one of the masons is dead, what reason is there to claim the other mason except for the perceived townie cred?
No point counter claimed and DkKobra retracted very quickly, saying they thought Andre was the other mason.
I don't understand why Dk would do this except to maybe try and create paranoia.- Facebones

Because his inconsistent play i.e. scumreading me then not voting for me provokes suspicion against a townie and leads to discussions like the one we're having now.

I kinda touched on this before in my 1339 but Jim hadn't said anything which stood out to me as obv!town like the top tier of my list.In post 1486, Andresvmb wrote:And how am I more Scummy than geraintm for example? And why is Jim null? It’s a completely absurd list.
You're more scummy than Geraintm because of how you went from voting Cook in RVS, clearly stating "this is scum", before giving him the benefit of the doubt and subsequently voting Esooa/Tris. You and Cook both then jumped onto the Polaris and Jim wagons before you finally decided that Cook was probs gonna be elimmed anyway and wanted to distance yourself from him so you re-voted for him.

Hmmm?

-DkKobra/Gamma can't be town because otherwise scum would've hammered. Someone should just hurry up and hammer-
-any year now-
In retrospect this seems to me like scum getting frustrated. I'd argue that both remaining scum were already on the DkKobra wagon, and Andre was trying to guide town into mis-elimming, whether it was me or Tris or whoever frankly...
______________________________________________________________________________
Andre and DkKobra's interactions seemed... weird. My guess is scum!Andre didn't want to elim town!DkKobra D1 because as he stated earlier, DkKobra is the only reason why Andre signed up for this game in the first place, and there was plenty of other viable options on D1. If Andre did vote with DkKobra for Essoa, and the wagon built and she flipped town, Andre knew there would absolutely be questions asked of him so from a scum!pov it would be best to not touch her with a 50 foot pole.In post 1467, RLotus wrote:andre- I already thought he was town for pressuring cook in day 1, but in hindsight knowing dk and essoa were town him playing peacemaker between them makes it hard to believe he is mafia.- Facebones

Hypothetical: You join a game only because of person A. You roll scum, they roll town- would you want to vote for person A on D1 and have them eliminated for the rest of the game or would you prefer to keep them around for a bit longer and sheep their reads, in a very similar vein as one of your scum buddies (Cook) did?In post 1499, Egix96 wrote:

After swapping your votes from Cook to Essoa to Polaris to Jim before finally realising that bussing one of your scum buddies might be the best play to get the townie cred you need to further yourself and your faction in the game.In post 1504, Andresvmb wrote:In post 1498, Facebones wrote:Andre and DkKobra's interactions seemed... weird. I'd like to point out that Andre and Bugspray are the only remaining players who were onboard the Jim wagon, the alternate wagon to Cook on D1. The other 2 players on the Jim wagon (Tris and DjKobra) both flipped town. I highly doubt Cook was the only mafia member voting for Jim, and incidentally both Andre and Bugspray were also on the DjKobra wagon as well as mine. PoE says one of them must be scum.- Facebones

Egix's logic in "I think he's scum because a completely different player in a completely different game under completely different circumstances voted for themself and they turned out scum" is faulty at best.
They're looking in the wrong place. Admittedly my reads haven't been the best this game, but I'm trying, goddamn it!- Facebones

I never claimed, no.
The reason why I didn't was simple: I thought if I claimed VT, which I am, scum and/or people suffering from confirmation bias would call bullshit on the claim and cry shenanigans. Plus I wanted scum to have a harder time at guessing the town PR besides the masons, if there is one. - Facebones
