They can only keep one. That doesn't mean that they wouldn't also want the other one if it might have a benefit to the town.

And, we don't know if scum know what the effects are unless I'm lol missing that from the instructions too. It looks like the recipient is the one who gain that knowledge, so the scum may be choosing blind on what they keep or give away and what they leave for the morning vote.

I like the idea of accountability, think games with items or games like marketplace that roles are passed around are very often lost because town did not hold people accountable,

Passing it to a second person might not give us that clearance though because people can pass it to their partner for verification.

I'm catching up now but here's a real hot take: The star-crossed siblings MathBlade and Titus are both Town and will be mislimmed this game despite my efforts.

Still in the middle of my catchup but feeling solid with my Dunnstral vote.

The way he's approaching his extended engagements, particularly with sangres: not really acknowledging or caring where ffery is coming from when she's gone above and beyond to explain her issues with him, and acting like he has an answer for everything while she's the one in the wrong really bothers me.

In Tenet, town!Dunnstral seeked out hard town reads Deacon Blues and Dandelion Wine (who ended up being scum, but irrelevant) who he discussed EVERYTHING with, to the point that their neighborhood PT almost reached 50 pages by the end of the game. He constantly bounced ideas off of them in the neighborhood; I literally got to-the-minute play-by-plays in the scum Discord from Cabd about Dunnstral's latest theories and reads. He was always churning them out because he had a bloc he felt confident in, and obviously valued their opinions.

Where in his ISO does Dunn exhibit this desire to identify and mind meld with his town reads? I can't find anything. He lists LLD, Prism, and Bell as town reads. He has not engaged with ANY OF THEM on reads one time. Bell, one of Dunn's listed town reads, has me as his highest townread, while Dunn himself has me as one of his strongest scum reads. There's been no initiative on Dunn's end to convince Bell he's wrong, or try to engage with Bell about what he sees. Because he doesn't care about finding scum.

90% of his posts are reactionary, whether it be in response to MathBlade, ffery, myself, borkjerfkin. This isn't bad on its own, but these interactions offer no visible evaluation or desire to see where the other player is coming from, he's just getting into extended back and forths to inflate his post count and seem like he's contributing when he's not.

Everything listed above is so unlike the town!Dunnstral I have seen. He is not town here.

Yea I'm sure Dunnstral after getting savagely snowed and crushed in Tenet would decide to play the exact same way because he is a glutton for suffering and pain.

The main reasons I suspect him:

1) Wanting me to die, hard claiming he has these suspicions on me and this mega case that will prove my guilt beyond a doubt and kill me.

Like ok sure. Then fucking post it?!?! Like I don't get how town!him has these feelings. like If I had that feeling about someone, I would be so upset I would be unable to sleep before posting my case. Ok maybe he's not as OCD as me but like it's been literally weeks. What the hell is taking him so long !?

The explanation I have is that he never actually had genuine good reasons to scumread me in the first place, so that's why he never laid out a case - its all just bullshit scum posturing.

Main Counterpoint here: Cakez is just a terrible player who likes bullshitting when he's town and can't back it up with the goods.

2) Cakez reaction to EOD does not feel like someone who is happy he is avoiding death or hard pushing a counterwagon to his own town-lynch. It feels like a scumbag who is not happy he can't get a mis-elim off.

when Bell put Cake at E-1, Cake was at 8 votes and the closest Counterwagon was at 4 votes(Mastina). There were not many hours to the deadline and it looked fairly certain he would die at that point in the game.

If I am sitting in Cakez spot there, holding a town day investigative PR - I would've pushed very hard for Mastina, I would've talked a lot about how my role is very important to the town. I would've listed out every reason for why Mastina is suspicious that I had been commenting on all day etc.

Sure you could say that's flailing but I think it's the bare minimum of effort a townie should make if they are sitting at E-1 on D1.

Instead its just this weak ass vote like he's not enthusiastic about Mastina being elimmed over him in any wya. And that makes sense if he is scum with her and doesn't really care which player among them gets elimmed.

Counterpoint: Cakez doesnt play like you, Cakez is a gentle soul who doesnt do that.

Counter Counter Point: I'm just surprised he doesnt put even 1% of the passion he put into spam-pushing me with no reasons that he does into saving his own ass when the other wagon is someone on his "would yeet" list. If anything the incentive and motivation should be higher for him when he's E-1 close to death than when he's just pushing me for lulz with nothing on the line.

3) I do not believe Cakez has played his role with a townie mindset. Maybe this is too harsh but there's so many things I would be doing to find the scum who is taking the artifact at night that I just don't see Cakez doing. I don't think he ever looked at his role as something that is useful for finding scum - and that makes sense if he is scum in the first place.

4) There was something in the Cakez ISO that I did not notice at the time because I dismissed it as a joke. I haven't addressed it yet but I'm going to now.



I think I might have hit this right on the head - my comment is an offhanded joke, and Cakez reaction reads much more sinister if he was actually in the PT with Mastina joking about how they were going to make LLD vote herself by putting LLD at the top of Mastina's readslist.


Conclusion: I understand that I could be wrong here about Cakez. He could just be a terrible player who likes to throw out random bullshit at me and never back it up and produce the goods to justify his thought process. That's true - but I have laid down so much bait for him at this point that if he had even a shred of respect for his own town game he should've taken the time to actually pretend like he's trying and bust out this mega case. I have seen Cake-town produce very good mega cases - for example on Agar in Lost Temple. I know he is capable of playing better than the shitposty little punk he's playing right now.

If I were scum and Cakez is town, I would not stop pushing. I would push until he's dead. You saw how I operate in Tenet, I drive until the target is dead, I am not scared of getting my hands dirty. I killed flavor leaf in like 2 hours total from first vote to him self hammering.

Compare that to the last 2 hours of D1 where I barely said anything. If I had actual stakes in this, I would just pile drive Cake all the way until he's gone.

FWIW I disagree with Spiffeh in that, assuming I'm town, I'm the best mechanical recipient regardless of likelihood for a night kill. This is because I'm a claimed VT who happens to not currently have an artifact, without going any potential D2/N2 usages. This means scum has to pick between shooting the artifact recipient and a power role.
