Wall Street Bets: You Only Live Once!

Wall Street Bets is a lovely subreddit full of tendie-loving semi-professional degenerate stock gamblers with one goal - to score the big YOLO bet and get fabulously rich. However the evil Hedge Fund Bros have decided that they can't let this happen! A nefarious group of evil-doers have infiltrated the Subreddit in order to steal tendies from the innocent WSBers.

It's up to you to find these evil hedge fund bros and bring the tendies home!

• All players will receive money to invest or gamble in stocks. (Trades will be processed by Moderator once per day)
  
• There will be an Auction House for the purchase of abilities - Auctions last for two realtime days.
  
• There will be a new set of abilities auctioned every two realtime days.
  
• Saturday + Sunday will count as "One Realtime Day" for the purposes of this game.
  
• Abilities won from Auctions must be used within four realtime days or they will expire.
  
• Game will be
  Nightless
  with a minimum day timer of 2 realtime days - flips will be processed on auction resolution.

The Rules

• ONE: FUNDAMENTALS
  • All site-wide rules apply. Read and respect them.
    
  • There is no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
    
  • Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, backup-moderator, or fellow players. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
    
  • Be courteous and respectful to all your fellow players and the moderating team.
    
  • Play to your Win Condition.
• TWO: DAY PHASE
  • All groups with Private Topics (PTs) will be able to converse during any Day Phases.
    
  • Votes must be in the format of VOTE: PlayerName or
    Vote: PlayerName
    , or they shall not be counted. Abbreviating someone's name is acceptable, so long as I can discern who you were voting for without trouble. If I think it should count as a vote, it will.
    
  • Unvoting is not required, but is much appreciated.
    
  • Once you have reached a simple majority (half of all votes plus one) that person's fate is sealed and they shall be eliminated. Unvoting cannot change their fate.
    
  • Once a player is eliminated the game enters twilight until I arrive and post a death scene. All players may continue to post during Twilight. For the purposes of this game, flips will only occur at Auction Resolution (Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9PM EST) so Twilight will last at least until then.
    
  • Please post at least once every 48 hours. If you fail to do so, you will be prodded. If you fail to respond to said prod within 24 hours, you will be replaced.
    
  • If you get three or more prods, or fail to respond to a prod by posting in thread within 24 hours (or by PM if at Night), I will begin seeking for a replacement (this means the third prod functions like a notice that you are racing the search for your replacement.)
    
  • There is a two week deadline that is reset after every elimination via vote. The Mafia will receive a day-vig shot if the deadline is ever triggered.
    
  • Votes and Unvotes shall not count in Twilight.
• THREE: NIGHT PHASE
  • There is No Night
• FOUR: CAPITAL OFFENSES
  • Do not quote your Role PM or any private communication (either real or fabricated) with the moderator, co-moderator, or backup-moderator. Paraphrasing your Role PM is acceptable.
    
  • There is to be no personal communication outside the forum postings (regarding this game) unless your role specifically allows it.
    
  • The following is a list of outlawed shenanigans:
    • Using invisible text, codes, cryptography, etc.
      
    • Editing your posts (if you have the power to do so)
      
    • Insulting other players
      
    • Quoting any PTs you may have access to
  • If any of these offences are committed, I have the right to force-replace you from the game, or, with Listmod permission, modkill you.
• FIVE: MISCELLANEOUS
  • This is a game. Have fun, and keep the game fun for other people. This might be the most important rule.

You may purchase/sell any stocks listed on major US exchanges:


For example:

Limit Orders:

Buy 100 Shares of TSLA @ LIMIT $800

This trade will be processed if TSLA reaches a price of $800 during the next trading day.
It will be processed at the opening price if TSLA opens at a price lower than $800.
If TSLA does not reach $800 during the next trading day, this order will not be processed.

Sell 100 Shares of TSLA @ LIMIT $900

This trade will be processed if TSLA reaches a price of $900 during the next trading day.
It will be processed at the opening price if TSLA opens at a price lower than $900.
If TSLA does not reach $900 during the next trading day, this order will not be processed.

If you were to execute the example trades, you would have a

profit

of $100 * 100 shares = $10,000 for the trade.

You may also use a MARKET order.

For example:

Buy @ Market 100 Shares of TSLA

or

Sell @ Market 100 Shares of TSLA

Market orders will be executed at the opening price of the following trading day.

For the sake of moderator sanity - you will be limited to only 5 trades per trading day and a total of 10 different stock positions.

For the first trading day of the game - you will be allowed to submit 10 trades.

Spoiler: Auction House Mechanics

The Auction House is where you can spend your money on useful abilities!

You may bid for abilities in this thread

Example:

Bid $350,000 for Day-Vig

If there is not enough cash in your bank account to cover the cost of the ability, you may designate one or more of your stock positions to be sold at the current market price to pay for the ability.

Auctions will award 0, 1 or 2 of the ability on according to random distribution and variable supply mechanics.

This means you may bid the highest amount but not win the ability due to the ability being in limited supply.

In case two of the ability is rewarded, the top TWO bidders will both receive the ability and have their bids deducted.


The Auction House follows a set schedule:

Monday 9 PM EST - Auction Resolution/New Auction Items Announced

Wednesday 9 PM EST - Auction Resolution/New Auction Items Announced
