It looks like Datisi likes to spread out scum in the playerlist between games, making all positions covered.
However, position 2 has NEVER rolled scum. This makes it due to be rolled scum, and makes Something_Smart more likely to be scum.

Datisi also doesn't like putting scum next to each other on the playerlist, other than 1 case 6 games ago. This makes it unlikely that scum are next to each other. So if Something_Smart is scum, Flea The Magician and Cat Scratch Fever are less likely to be scum.

Well I always figured the mods picked scum arbitrarily from the playerlist but had to avoid using bias to make it fair, but there's still ways to detect subconscious bias which is what I might have seen in Datisi - he spreads his picks out so #2 is due for scum, and scum aren't next to each other very often.

I'd like to talk about Miss Midnight in more detail.
the worst's critique is fair though - scum would have equal access to the data since it's public, and that taints reads based on historical statistics to some extent. So I can definitely see the perspective there.

However

I don't think draft picks factor in all that much in reality, so playing the WIFOM game by mucking up the picks has a small payoff compared to the roles you can achieve trying to get a high position. Rationally scum should try to score high *shrug*

Town have the habit of refreshing and checking the thread at a rate far more frequent than scum. This is because the interest for solving the game can often be far higher than scum's desire to lie. Some scum can also be scared of opinions of their posts after they post, and may even close the thread entirely for some time, while town will eagerly refresh the page to hear opinions on what they've just posted.

I've been rereading the thread and I had an idea. There's a phenomenon on this site known as page topping, often conjoined to one word as such; PageTopping.

This phenomenon results in players wanting to score the top post of new pages. The top post of each page are divisible by 25, so post 500 would be a PageTop, and so would post 975.

Now, the interesting thing about these PageTops are that you can only perform them if you are present on the page and see the opportunity for one arise. To be present on the page, you must have refreshed it recently.

See where I'm going with this? In addition to town being more able to efficiently perform PageTops, they are also just more active on average, and will naturally land more PageTops over time. This results in town scoring far more PageTops on average than scum.

ascetic cop or bulletproof
draft cop or 1-shot watcher
doctor or roleblocker
universal backup or rolecop
neighborizer or voyeur
jailkeeper or tracker

If we have the setup on the left, this is what I believe we should do:
The night 3 vigilante should be left alive until night 3.
The 1-shot vig should not shoot if scum is voted out on day 1. If town is voted out, they should.
The ascetic cop should check who they think is scum but is unlikely to be voted out the next day.
The draft cop can check whoever they like to see if they have a role.
The doctor should protect a universally townread person.
The universal backup should wait.
The neighbouriser should target someone they think they will get along and solve with.
The Jailkeeper should target their biggest scumread.

If we have the setup on the right:
The vengeful should claim when death is assured and kill a consensus scumread.
The PGO should not activate and save themselves for later.
The bulletproof should enjoy themselves.
The 1-shot watcher should not do anything on the first night.
The roleblocker should target their biggest scumread.
The rolecop should target a scumread they're worried might be a cop.
The voyuer should target a high interest player.
The tracker should target their biggest scumread that won't immediately be voted out.

If we follow all of these actions, we can probably win this game from the sheer amount of roles that will be in town's hands. We just need to make sure foolish things aren't done like vigilantes shooting like heroes or cops checking players that will be voted out the next day anyway.

I'd be surprised if his opinion is particularly far from mine: there's novel benefit to your analysis. There is probably some correlation due to thread presence, sure. Some of it is probably warped by the fact a higher % of players are town. It's a fun statistic, but not particularly useful for actually finding scum. It's also profoundly unfun compared to just playing mafia - if I wanted a logic puzzle I'd download an app.

Sorry if this sounds harsh. I feel like dragging the conversation back into 2d stat analysis is pretty detrimental to the gamestate.

Based on Thor's mechanical spec 98, 326, 664, and 858, he seemed to have good reason to scumread Enchant based off of numbers alone, but Thor never actually placed a vote on Enchant.

I feel like their mutual townreads on each other were pretty flimsy as well.

Enchant doesn't vote for Miss Midnight when I asked for his help twice and he never explains his townread there. He at one point says gut and at another says he thinks scum can't produce the drawing she produced...

Contrast that to his other townreads which he has plenty of explanations for and I think it may mean she's scum.

I'd vote her but I don't wanna look opportunistic and I'm scared everyone's just gonna jump on board of me any minute now so I will cower under the rug of my attic and only emerge when it is safe outside.

I'd be shocked if none of the top 5 were scum. Bee and Titus seem likely town for pushing Enchant and Titus being counterwagoned to him. Something_Smart has felt towny this game for other reasons.

This as well as Enchant's play and reads leads strongly to one of Miss Midnight or Auro beings scum.

The other scum by my wager is in the bottom 4.

Given Enchant picked 4, House is always town, and it makes Cat Scratch Fever a lot less likely to be scum too since scum like to spread their number picks out and not pick numbers next to each other. The faulty reasoning in this is that they don't like being too close to each other in fear of looking partnered, but this is flawed and not how randomness works.

The End of world event being used as a name, or the mech ignorance.

Ragnarök is what happens when Fenris breaks free of his chains, eats Odin, Tyr, Heimdall and I think Freya; and Jorgmandr aka the world serpent wakes up and basically turns everyone into a hashtag. Thor and Loki also specifically die.

Fun fact about Norse lore, prophecies HAD to happen. That's why Loki killed Baldr, it was fated and had to happen.

Vig is a strong scum role, and Thor's soft doesn't make me want to yeet him any less. Moreover, I find it suspicious that someone who's admitted to not have strong reads would pick a role like vig.

Shooting someone is the most impactful thing you can do from those roles in my opinion. I thought there was a good chance 1-shot vig would be gone from the 3 above me, so I opted for night 3
