I am very upset about the way I exited the game, both that I was forced out of a game I was genuinely excited in and invested in and that Gamma has been allowed to play both after making it clear he did not care about the gender concerns and was concerned only with his own selfimage. He got away with talking about an ongoing game with another slot and
talking about this rule breakage in said game
and is still allowed to play.
I am even more tilted at Cakez, whose suggestion that I did simply did not want to play mafia was incredibly helpful. It reminds me of how he did not care at all about a man telling a woman she talked too much then openly bragged about forcing her out of the game. Cakez does not care about players or their comfort/safety. He cares about being inconvenienced and having to hear about it. I said in the DEFCON postgame that my criticisms were of him as a moderator, not as a player or person. Now he flatly disgusts me as all three.
I don't want to address telling Gamma I was through talking about it privately only to have him make open overtures for my forgiveness publicly, as though those would be more welcome or wanted, simply because that invites a response and dialogue with him that is again completely unwanted.
I completely got your position here, both the timezones and that you didn't really have time to sort out all that had happened. I do think the blatantly and openly breaking the "don't discuss ongoing games" rule was uhhhhhh way out of bounds but I don't really know what I would do with someone clearly having a public meltdown inthread either.
I really just wanted to vent, because yeah, it fucking sucks to watch this game happen without me, especially when Cakez frames it as me clearly an issue of me not wanting to play the game. I don't post outside of mafia games. I don't touch the moderator side of the site at all. I don't add people on Discord.

(And it makes it worse since he is a repeat offender, the last time was more egregious as it took two separate bans to get Cakez to force replace slots in DEFCON)
I don't think you made the mistake out of callous indifference or lack of thought, and if it helps I want you to know both that I forgive you and I agree that replacing now would also be absurd.
It has been frustrating watching the rest of the game continue but that is spilled milk and you were not a bad faith actor. My frustration is directed at those that I think were.
Spin the barrel is important to save for a perceived disadvantageous scenario. It doesn't matter if you prove you don't know where the bullet is. Your goal is to come out of the duel alive.
As an example, with 3 bullets in the gun you want to spin the barrel. Assume random placement-shooting self and having the opponent respond by shooting you means 2/3 chance you get shot. Shooting opponent results in the same, as they will shoot you if both of your shots are blank.
And it is fine to spin the barrel early to counteract that. Scum inherently have the advantage in the game by virtue of knowledge. Spinning immediately converts that advantage into has spin (and therefore can avoid 3 bullet scenarios) vs. does not have spin (and therefore cannot)
There's no reason to believe holding the spin is a scumclaim, though.

It's like they think there's this yin/yang of a combined, united scum who know what they want and pursue it accordingly, counterbalanced by a disparate but rational set of town actors working in harmony or disharmony.
I have never once in my life seen people reference this effectively and use it to discern even the most basic of truths because in reality the players are a bunch of wild indecisive animals who shit on the floor and step on each other with only a thin veneer of rhyme or reason
Things get unpleasant, people push inactivity, and people don't give you the light of day because they're scum or think you are. I think those are natural. It's unpleasant if the accusations are untrue, and aggressively right even if they are, but fundamentally they're about the play rather than the player.
I'm a biased, though, both because I consider peta one of my few friends onsite and because while I tend to have hard "do not touch categories" ex. gender, in general I play extremely dirty as scum and think it is fair game to make the game extremely unfun for players.
The comment from Trust Fall about not agreeing with or sympathizing with a single post from you in games I "spectated" was actually about this game LMAO
I have no clue who last is but I stopped reading way, way back and was clearly way off on the wrong track.
Kind of sad I won't get to retire with a perfect record correctly reading Gamma but the streak had no value and I play for keeps, which means being eager to put it on the line
If peta is scum this game, he already deserved to be the first two-time DC winner but this game would seal it beyond question.
Two of his scumgames are in the top 3 performances all year and he has several more where he either hit the easy double or showed he wasn't a bussing one-trick and could set others up well
This...should not be a hard decision. Even if shiki thinks Titus is town the rest of the game does not and that will carry into future gamedays. You're already dead, don't deny town a virtually free elim.

I want to emphasize this. You have a habit of trivializing concerns, dismissing things that fundamentally make players feel unsafe as not only agents of the game but as themselves. You pretend to care only so far as they inconvenience you. You dismiss the result as the players not having enough passion for the game.
I was not alone in DEFCOn. I had 2 different players and a spectator from PM me about how they did not feel comfortable bringing up the topics I did or challenge you on them.

It is a month later and it still hurts to have left this game. I don't regret leaving, but I will never not be salty about the way it happened, and the suggestion that I obviously just didn't want to play is infuriating.

It's fine if you like Cakez and want him to know that but consider that you just saw that wall about Cakez trivializing gender/identity concerns and decided that it was less important than you personally liking Cakez.
