heya, i've skimmed the past 20 pages.

i think until/unless we have good reason to believe the chair is anything but a flip, we should just treat it as such.

gamma's tilt itself i don't really find scummy and can see coming from either alignment from him. but i don't like that his thought process doesn't really seem to match his actions, there were a few different instance of him calling people scummy but choosing someone else to vote (like choosing to vote pooky over pooky's solve that he agreed with, etc). also he was a shining beacon of towniness in radio buzz and i'm kinda wondering where that's gone and what's different here.

i also find infinity and dwlee suspicious. infinity feels weirdly stilted and kinda floating on the edge of things in a way that's reminiscent of her scumgame, and i think that if gamma is scum infinity is a viable partner.
dwlee is leaning too hard on the 'i have no idea what's going on here' bit.
(also ydra feels kinda off but i'd feel a little bad poking there too much atm so uh just gonna wait and see if her wim comes back soon-ish as it isn't a Critical part of the game just yet).

Shockingly my reads are mostly aligned with skitter's, minus Ydrasse who is a townlean and maybe Dwlee who is solidly null for me.

My reasoning differs on Gamma, who I'm voting for like three different reasons. (Scrambling to hit tonal bases early, read on Dwlee, reactions to pushes)

felt good early because she was making reads amidst the usual fluffing around nonsense, review of the ISO leaves me feeling more neutral. doesn't really seem obvscum to me, just kind of there

I see a few here, but they're junior varsity spats. I'm seeing what I think is a frustrated Gamma leading the pack, but I'm not sure why he's so scum read, which makes me think I need to go back and read the beginning of the game again, which I started doing. I do kind of agree with whomever said that thing about Ceph being similar to RB, and I think I need more than just that feeling to scum read him I think. I dunno, I'm just missing a ground hold here.

i don't know what you want from me. no one seems to want me to be alive. it is demoralizing. half of them have only played one game with me and i was scum in that game and they've very wisely observed that i seem similar in this game. i feel the only way i can overcome their perceptions is by flipping town at which point they will realize that i'm actually just good at imitating myself. so it seems like this game is a wash / a price i have to play in order to be able to actually play mafia with this group.

I think this serves as an express declaration that yes, I have turned my thoughts around on the Gypyx slot somewhat. I also had pings early from Ydrasse but expressly turned that around at a markedly earlier point.
Also, I may not have shown it much in my posting but I was genuinely lost for a time, it just seemed vastly unproductive to make a comment about it rather than working to fix the underlying issues. I am certain I’d have people barking about how I’ve been making a scene about my lack of direction and I’m scum for it if I’d actually been more clear about how lost I’d been when I was struggling with that. So excuse me if I find your viewpoint rather uncharitable.

the issue that i'm having here is that i'm used to town-infinity having more 'oomph' and 'being here' more than she has been, esp. in response to my saying i scumread her. usually if town-her feels i'm reading her wrong (which has happened multiple times in the past), she kicks into gear, starts pushing me, and has a visceral sort of response. here she's kinda just passively accepting it and not really doing anything abt it, which i think is a reaction much more likely to come from scum-her.

I'm caught up enough I think. I just haven't found anything to really dig into. The mechanics seem the most interesting thing, but I don't think it's really the right time to talk about that, at least until we have the first challenge under our belts. My reads are awful, and I have this impression that no one's done or said anything really noteworthy. Like in Radio Buzz by this time we had several 1v1s or 1v1v1s. I see a few here, but they're junior varsity spats. I'm seeing what I think is a frustrated Gamma leading the pack, but I'm not sure why he's so scum read, which makes me think I need to go back and read the beginning of the game again, which I started doing. I do kind of agree with whomever said that thing about Ceph being similar to RB, and I think I need more than just that feeling to scum read him I think. I dunno, I'm just missing a ground hold here.

I don't know what the difference is. I'm doing my normal thing, other than getting a late start. It seems I got rung up pretty early in that game, and I had a better feel for the player list. I do remember that a lot of what I was saying early on was being misinterpreted, and Rousseau was stepping in and saying, "I think Galron meant this..." which was saving me a lot of grief. And at some point Kyouko started tunneling me in a pretty outrageous way, which gave me a focus.

the pl's between the 2 games overlap quite a bit
but idk there u got into the game p early and were involved and were forming reads that you wanted to make sure u got out before getting hammered and were making very astute observations about the game when u were posting

The game seems stale, and I get the impression that the mechanics are playing a factor

. So getting a flip to see what the hubub is about, even of someone you're unsure about, isn't the end of the world. It seems that Gamma has upped his effort the last day or so, but I don't mind a first day flip of someone I'm even null about in a large game to gain information. But last night, as I was going through things more thoroughly, I could kind of see where Gamma was coming from, and I had some empathy after being so misinterpreted last game.

I've never played with scum Galron and I have trouble figuring out what his alignment is because I'm not sure what he's doing.

I had a problem with this in Radio Buzz as well, I was quite sure he was town because of his conversation with Shiki in the hood but I had no idea what he was actually trying to do in the game itself.

I'd expect Shiki to have a better read on him than me since she correctly identified him as town in Radio Buzz - I just kind of went with what their conversation in the hood looked like.

Galron's wagon during that phase is not important as the one that is happening on him right now. I don't really enjoy looking backwards unless it's to reference something. My read on Cakez is a short dive and I plan to mostly continue to do the same.

Not sure where I'm placing this quite yet. Gut would say on Saber or SirCakez. The former seems controversial and the latter I don't wanna have another game where me and Skitter are just in disagreement but happen to be the same alignment. Trashing my Dunn read.

I end up doing this a lot and I'm prone to give him early passes by assuming intent. The fact of the matter is though that actually reading the game I just think Dunn's behavior is tepid. Yes, that's what Dunn does. He's not a very in-your-face player but there's a lot of stuff from him that just meshes together. I don't think Dunn is afraid to be bold. I don't think Dunn chooses to be unreadable when he's green. I think he leans onto that 'is he thinking about something' type of deal more when he's red. This is not a complete 180 it's more like my reasons to townread Dunn were all assumption and tone, but contextually I can't really see where he fits.

I'm just looking for an indication of what he wants. Even the most tepid version of Dunnstral has something I can affix him with. The only thing I could gather is that he really didn't like Ceph. OK. Ceph is dead now and Dunn is still fiddling with the inbetween and I'm not sure what happens next.

That being said my "Saber/Dunn aren't aligned" idea is still floating in my head. Making associative takes and then buying into what you see can be really dangerous. I'm not afraid to make mistakes I just don't want to lose sense of reality. There's nothing besides a complete fucking literal guess with that. I get that's what you do especially without a proper flip but I digress.
