Majority of the time it is town because town have the majority. But it's not exactly a bad thing if it does end up being town who is eliminated, it can sometimes end up for the greater good.

This is a town post, with a town perspective/mindset.

Is this something on which you can elaborate or is it a tonal thing

I didn't originally like that he was being lazy, and not wanting to read back.

It to me, strikes me that he 'knows' who's town so doesn't really need to look for any clues who could be what.

I know majority of the early talk is just random, but you can still find something to work on, to try work out who could be town, or possibly scum.
