So Klick "scumreading" Tammy achieves both attempting to lower Tammy's towncred and making Klick look like he's scumhunting

it's also a take on a fairly active player who is like, already not widely townread (= at least slightly contentious = he's more likely to find someone willing to lend an ear.

I don't think MafMen essentially saying "but it might come from town, too" is as clever of a point as he thinks regarding Wisdom's reaction to Klick. I concur with Wisdom in that posts like 522 are a bit overly principled. If MafMen doesn't TR Klick and doesn't SR Wisdom I don't know why they didn't just wait to see what happens.

By the way you brought it up it kinda sounded like backtracking a reasoning for why you did something as if you were trying to garner reads from it from the start, and thinking back to the conversation last night it did not feel that way. In that you said the discussion was unproductive when pooky pushed at it.

That's a fair criticism. I've become more interested in people's reactions to the softclear than I originally was in the softclear, though at the time I didn't have reactions to be interested in. I think I can fairly say the softclear was a situation of like "oh this is something i vaguely believe and it's 149 times more exciting than anything else happening", rather than a "aw hells ye i cleared wisdom for reals and forever and will never re-evaluate this".

i didn't really find it productive being grilled for it because like, of course i wouldn't take that kind of clear as gospel, i was just kinda vibing.

What I did like about wisdom's conversation with mafmen last night was the windy way his suspicions began changing. Like first he suspects Klick then moves to mafmen based on his points about Klick then thinking that mafmen is tmi-ing Klick as town followed by showing a little frustration that nobody will see what he sees with maf.

Not that I agree with the conversation really. I think that both of them lost their points at points, but I did like that. Not enough for an actual townread but I forgot to mention it when I was here earlier.

I think Enchant!scum would read what was happening around the time of his play and feel pressure to *do something* to mess with the gamestate, as townreads were starting to form and he'd feel the walls closing in a bit. Whereas Enchant!town doesn't have as much of an obvious reason to shake things up.

hmm I think I found town!Enchant moderately chaotic in the last running of this game. He was also cleared via a townie in that game randomly trusting him (they did so because he's often misread as scum which was p lit) so like, I can absolutely see why he's predisposed towards trusts being pro-town.

It's kinda 3d chess goofiness but basically:

- if scum trust their short game more, they accept a trust and exit the game to get their partner to carry.
- if scum trust their long game more, they'd be better off sticking around and trying to get their partner to leave first - then carrying using the clout they got for not leaving earlier.

so smartasses like me or pooky would not accept a trust as scum unless we were strictly sure that it was better to leave our partner to carry.

Just realised MafMen's trajectory on me is somewhere between steaming garbage and non-existant vs. Pooky who has a better reason to be paranoid of me (he's watched me having a blast setting up endgames as a villain in a non mafia game and been broken by a scunbuddy + I in our last like ~5 interactions) and wisdom who is just generally uncomfortably good at reading me

there's kind of an onus on non-townread townies to fix the gamestate in this setup. honestly my agency has been weakened by being soft cleared, you complained about the game being stale, I seized my agency against my better judgement and made two very safe (fmpov) votes and you accuse me of gamethrowing.
