This is my first non-Newbie game, I think this setup is magic. To everyone claiming Merlin, I am not aMused.

The reason I say there's very little cost to a single merlin claiming without color is that from a pure numbers perspective, the odds of scum getting it correct shift from 1/60 (negligible) to 1/36 (also negligible) assuming no one else claims for the rest of the game. Even taking into account that scum have all of the information of all our ISOs at their disposal, I still see that cost as trivial for the benefit.

In other news: why the FoS on furtiveglance?

I think a Merlin revealing should be held off on until later

they've also literally done nothing before or after the quickhammer. Like their iso has strictly less content than progo's. when enchant replaced in to diffusion of power they got like, instantly locktowned by like 4 people, their town play is not hard to spot and this is not it

Enchant's hammer was bad, their reaction to Dunn's twilight posts was bad for the reasons Noraa has already given, and the excuses they're making today are just wildly implausible (not to mention, as implo said, why even make excuses for doing what you always do as town, unless you have a guilty conscience about it?)

Policy voting a slot doesn’t necessarily mean that slot is town but unless it’s either extreme or near elo. it’s usually not a good reason to vote someone. So, you have enchant as your strongest sr but you just accused Umlaut of voting someone they think is town?

Who nagged you in Anything uPick? I thought you loved doing VCAs. When did this change?

You haven’t explained a single read this entire game, save furtive’s opening post on d1. You never expressed a single read on Dunn before voting him, where as in Happy Face you relentlessly cased him.

This game is strategically different. It's not as wise for me to give too detailed reads, as I tend to be too direct and could out if I am a Merlin. I need some explanation for my reads though to be readable evidently. I am struggling to find that balance.

+ butterflies (hydra of Nancy Drew 39 & Flea The Magician) - Town until proven otherwise.
+ Enchant - Scum due to hammer. I don't like slots that cut off the day prior to discussion ending.
+ furtiveglance - I struggle with this slot. I don't like their reads, but I like their activity. It could just be a disagreement on reads given I can be proud. I don't like his scumread on me but nullread on Galron when we've essentially been the same activity wise. Could be a chainsaw.
+ Galron - Gun to my head scum.
+ implosion - I don't like their general attitude towards the thread and blaming others for their mistakes. His response, accurate or not, was to out his beliefs on a Merlin. I don't like how he approaches the thread and is a viable partner with Enchant.
+ Noraa - town
+ fireisredsir ProgoWoshua - A new player I've never seen as scum but I don't know their capabilities. I suspect their good as scum. Only moderate improvement on the slot. By their play lean town though.

This post here, for example, feels over justified. Part of it is just common sense incorrect. While it's plausible people thought Noraa was a Merlin, outing that was not a smart idea. Yet the thought process there, in the absence of anything else, would just be town being anti-town. Implosion feels like he's stretching for a case here.

The comparison to not_mafia is weird. I don't believe Enchant has a history of quickhammering. So why compare?

A policy vote makes some sense however as quickhammers cannot happen as they stop communication, which is town's real power in the setup.

Hero solves routinely let charismatic scum get away with flipping town because their wagons are "contested". Lack of contest can be a reason to think a slot is town. However, if you think they're scum, the best play is to lim them. Confident town can take out the deep scum later. Taking the low hanging scum also obscures Merlins as well everyone thinks that slot is scum. Forcing plays tips off if I am a Merlin or not.

As for waiting for Noraa, voting someone does not mean I want the day to end. If someone actually voted to end the day, that would be a huge FoS but getting wagons to go well before deadline is good.

I'm not certain what your third question means but I'm very open to scum bussing and one of those scum being furtive. In fact, furtiveglance could be lockscum. Who knows?

Rereading this post, the only read that really sticks out to me as not making a whole lot of sense is the one on fire/Progo. If you have no meta on a player, than how can you have any clue what their capabilities would be as scum?

Hard disagree. I just finished a game where at least two town volunteered themselves as the elimination because they felt they couldn't live until elo. So it's possible.

The only negative from this is if Enchant feels their Merlin has been sussed out.

Playing as a VT is interesting because the ideal strategy is to slow play reads and not give wrong townreads. Since I was unware of if I was on the list, I wanted to fake like I was.

I had no idea of the last scum either and wanted to shield Merlin.
