Welcome to the Mafia private thread! You are
Painter's Blocks
, dedicated to stemming the tide of creativity from artists and their
Muses
.

The
Red
Painter's Block
is furtiveglance.
The
Yellow
Painter's Block
is Enchant.
The
Blue
Painter's Block
is Umlaut.

If you don't know what those colors mean, check the game thread for setup information.

Below is a list of 5 members of the town. 3 of them are
Muses
. The other 2 are randomly chosen
Vanilla Townies
. The list was then randomized, so the order will not tell you anything of note.
  • Butterflies
  • Noraa
  • Galron
  • Dunnstral
  • implosion

Hello fellow bakas. This is my first scum game on the site. We know that Gamma Progo and Titus are all Vanilla. Would it be smart to choose a player and push them hard like Merlin would?

Noooooooo

I was just Mafia last game, why are you doing this to me

Welcome to scumtown, Furtie. I haven't thought more than five seconds about the setup mechanics, will let you know when I do.

Would it ever be wise to outright claim Muse (Merlin) in final 3 perhaps?

Yeah agreed our most likely win is by id'ing the Muses. But
acting
like a Muse is not a bad way to push a case on someone while waiting for that point, and I might pick someone to have a weirdly strong and insistent scumread on

Oh wait, the Muses know who one another are, don't they? Now I'm not sure that's really a good idea.

Yikes, this setup is tough. Not the kind of thing where you can just ignore it and play Mafia, need to actively engage with the mechanics to have a hope of winning this.

@mod
Is killing on night 1 compulsory?

I want to think about whether we might be better off just no-killing until we can kill from the potential muse pool

I momentarily thought that in terms of information it was actually better to eliminate a non-Muse than a Muse from the pool, but actually that's not true because we need to guess the colors correctly as well and eliminating a Muse tells us their color. If we eliminate one Muse from the pool that leaves 2!*(4 choose 2)=12 possibilities to guess from, whereas if we eliminate one non-Muse it leaves 3!*(4 choose 3)=24 possibilities. (I might just make a whole table of these numbers.)

It is not compulsory, you may choose not to use the nightkill if you wish.

Please also note that in this setup, the only thing that flips on a kill is alignment, not color or role. If I interpreted the wiki page correctly, which I believe I did.

Damn, seriously?

I have no idea how we win this if there is no way to get mechanical information about who is a Muse or their color

Hmm. Noraa is on the list, but I feel like this is too blatant for zir to be blue muse specifically unless ze just doesn't understand the setup.

If I had to guess right now I'd say Galron is blue muse making up a reason to vote me, and butterflies is either red or yellow following his lead.

That's a good idea. Right now I'm thinking implosion could be my (RED) muse, going deep cover and actually defending me. Thoughts?

If I had to guess I'd say Dunnstral/Nora give more VT vibes, what do people think?

by Umlaut
I really don't know. I could believe that, but I have a lot of respect for Dunnstral's game in particular and don't think it'll be easy to figure out whether they're muse or not.

Galron and Dunnstral have also been pretty quiet which is indicative of being cautious about what they say.

Thoughts on bussing? How do I quote from the main thread and put it in here?

You can just copy and paste the quote.

I don"t plan on busing, my recent experience as scum has been that no one actually cares who you voted once they decide to scumread you so it doesn't accomplish much. If you disagree then do what you need to do I guess.

Guessing Dunnstral isn't a Muse then....
