Do y'all have any opinions on like, if we need to distance/etc? Or if we should crumb for safety? the one time i drew mason (in a closed setup) I crumbed in such a hilariously obscure way that people got kind of angry at me.

things are very much Happening in the game; there's been a wagon on fireisredsir (who I think is an alright candidate for scum), and some vague suspicion being thrown in many directions by many people (me, andante, vp baltar, etc)

This is as much general MS advice as advice for this game, but don't let the page count intimidate you. You truly do not have to read every page to play the game. If you find yourself having missed like 10-20 pages and with time to post but not the energy to catch up, don't be afraid to just read the most recent 1-2, enter the thread with some light commentary, and then play the game with whoever is in the thread at the time.

Thinking out loud here...

If we early claim as Masons:

Scenario 1: Scum counterclaims. All 3 of them claim. I think that's bad for them because if one us gets elimmed(us or them), then either way, they will be in a bad spot. I don't think they'll do this.

Scenario 2: Scum counterclaims. Only 1 of them claims. If one us gets elimmed(us or them), they will also be in a bad spot. But this is better than scenario 1 since only 1 scum gets outted.

Scenario 3: Scum doesn't counterclaim at all.

Scenario 3a: One of us might get elimmed D1. Then another one will be NKd on N1, leaving just 1 Mason left.
Scenario 3b: We don't get elimmed D1, NKd N1, then that's 2 Masons left on D2. I guess that benefits Town on D2 since, the pool to scumhunt in gets smaller.
Scenario 3c: We don't get elimmed D1. Don't get NKd N1. This is the best case for Town. But also good for scum since Town won't know if we're lying or not.

If we claim early, I *think* we won't get night killed since that just confirms our Masonship. We just have to avoid getting elimmed on D1 and I think Town will be in a good place.

We definitely don't claim. Since we're the only power roles in the game, scum won't counterclaim, they'll just kill us the first three nights if we claim, and we'll then effectively be playing a mountainous game (i.e. a game with no power roles) from that point on, which is extremely advantageous for scum.

Our goal in this setup is to survive as long as possible without being discovered as masons. If one of us needs to claim (e.g., if we're about to be eliminated), we try to claim alone, not with each other. Think about it this way - if we claim now, then we'd all be confirmed town, which reduces the pool of people to eliminate to 10. However, if we all survived to day 4 (when there's 7 people alive), we'd reduce the pool of people to eliminate to

Hmmmm I see. So I guess it's choosing between getting an advantage early in the game (d1) or late in the game (i.e. d4). Okay, l'll go with your strategy. But I'm intrigued with claiming early though.

I think it's certainly a weird as fuck take because I think this game has had plenty of useful content. I'm not sure about scum-indicative, it's kind of like lighting a molotov cocktail and throwing it at everyone.
