It's a word used in a game. What difference does it make if it's lynch or burn or hang or hug or toss or yeet or eliminate or remove or kill? It's literally a game word. It can't hurt you, trust me.

Though I understand the symbol change, it had the potential to make the site unattractive to people.
But a word being a problem? That's make belief; looking for trouble and drama where there is none. I wouldn't mind to be proven otherwise and shown a case where someone actually had an emotional problem with the word, but I wouldn't hold my breath anticipating the existence of such a case other than some drama queen making up drama for the sake of it.
