Sorry pal - you had me at several junctures and your instincts were spot on. Was just determined to push for as long as I could. Glad I got as far as I did to be honest.

Cheers, I didn't think I was great as such but I definitely play better as scum than town. Mostly because I'm one of the few people who prefer being scum. You had a really strong game though, showed a willingness to compromise in the spirit of town and avoided trying to survive based on ego, but your read on me was bang on.In post 25, Rad wrote:Tbh you just played really well malcolm, imo. I don't think I pick you out as scum if you didn't target me specifically. So I was worried I was conf biasing you, and mala scum seemed like a no brainer that I would actually have to overthink to conclude that she was town.- MalcolmTucker

Without spoilers for the uninformed I think some of your play was beneficial for us in the long-run. Had a hard role to play given initial suspicion on Corwin. In post 70, MathBlade wrote:Sorry to my scum team for shitty game.

Agreed, feel like there's been a few times where town was headed down a good path but ends up straying away from it due to infighting. I feel like it probably helped me survive a day or two longer than I expected to for example, feel like there were a couple of occasions where I couldn't be active for a while at points where I was under suspicion, but by the time I came back there'd been about 15 pages worth of arguing that went nowhere and town had gone down the wrong path. Probably why I think Rad's approach was good in the end - much as it delayed my elimination a turn they realised they didn't necessarily need to be around for town endgame for town to still win at the time.In post 175, MathBlade wrote:https://forum.mafiascum.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=85633
Take a look here:
This is an example where the entire scum team was caught D1.
The only thing I could really do is poison the well that the day was going on too long.
Town died because the people who were right were drowned out by petty infighting. I just never bothered to try to fix it.
People want to be heroes way too much.- MalcolmTucker

I thought Nora's slot was our best chance at lasting the game out, when I lightly pushed that to create some distancing I was repeatedly told (to my amusement) the slot couldn't be scum due to the D1 gladiate. Feel we'll struggle to win from here but a solid effort given D2 and D3. Strong fightback from a difficult position.- MalcolmTucker

Your slot was widely townread for a long time due to Math's ambivalence about the D1 elimination. I've only been following in brief spurts to see what happens so was surprised to see you as the elimination. Thought you'd be our last scum standing if it came down to 1 vs the rest.In post 360, Noraa wrote:
seems like a kind of flimsy reason honestly but props to taly and the scum team for making most people that confident in the slot being town.In post 357, MalcolmTucker wrote:couldn't be scum due to the D1 gladiate- MalcolmTucker

Good analysis, I think in general the best approach for Nora/Taly slot was relative silence - Yeet barely posted while they were playing and it didn't particularly harm them because town's consensus was the slot was town due to the gladiate. On play alone beyond that I don't think the slot ever looked particularly townie. But I get as scum it can be difficult/weird to just sit back near the end of the game instead of exerting your influence over everybody else.In post 370, Rad wrote:Well, just to be real with you here Noraa, the correct strat for the taly slot (IMO) here was to let Nancy defend you to the win. Probably not super clear considering you joined so late and didn't read the rest of the game though. I agree that it's more likely a town would attack Nancy here than scum, but the Taly slot specifically just needed to chill out and let her win the game for you. There's no slot Nancy read harder town than yours and pushing town!Nancy only reads as a scum move to her.
Like I'm kinda surprised if your scum teammate didn't throw that out there for you to consider.
Had we not fucked up the night-kill on the day you were eliminated, I'd have maybe not been eliminated right away and I intended to use that turn (always likely to be my final one) to push the slot quite heavily, but obviously never got the chance. Wonder how that could've influenced things. - MalcolmTucker
