I think their misunderstanding of the setup looks rather genuine and not the way that scum would try to fake a slip like that. People like to WIFOM their way out of that logic sometimes, but scum rarely actually try something like that early because it's just not that effective as a way to get townread, on average. I believe there's credit to the fact that both SCRRRDBEAR and northsidegal held an early townread there as well! So I feel good about having JunkoChan as town from the start.

This was my first thought in response to Porkens' push on NK15 and NSG. I find it difficult to believe that Porkens actually thinks this is how buddies would interact. Slightly down on Porkens, and up on Dannflor.

can go ahead and be a full townread, complete with a bold tag! I believe the stretch of posts 141-145 demonstrates that Dann is clearly showing, as it turns out, an underlying town thought process. (It's clear that that's something Dann himself valued in making reads, and it's also how NSG seemed to be developing her own early reads. How meta!) There's clear depth to Dann's reads on all of NK15/Porkens/NSG. I believe there's a person behind the Dann account who believes the thoughts he is posting about these slots.

Based on experience with playing with you in the past. Early aggression isn't outside of your scum range, but I don't see any motivation for you to do it as scum this game. Like if you wanted to emulate your town game, sure, but the aggression itself is NAI, so I think it's natural. And I think when you fake aggression it isn't always believable, so I really don't see what scum!you gains from trying to fake it so early here. It's good enough for me to want to set you aside as town, at least for today.

I don't understand this. I agree with you that the aggression is NAI. It seems like the point you were making here was that Gamma wouldn't fake early aggression here. Why can't the early aggression be genuine and still come from scum?

(I don't have a read on Gamma yet despite him being the early hot topic for exactly this reason, I think the way he handled the early game says basically nothing about his alignment.)

Sorry Dann. I know catch-up content is a lot different than current content from the perspective of trying to form a read on my slot. Reading like this is definitely what will help me get to a place where I can feel confident solving the game though, and I figured some content as I went was better than none. Maybe I'll compile it all into one post and post it when I'm done?

I think starting with Day 2 would just confuse me, sorry. But I'll try to give more current commentary!

I've just gotten to the start of that - I think the cognitive load tell can be effective but isn't a catch-all. There are plenty of reasons someone might miss humor, the way JunkoChan did doesn't look unnatural to me.

I don't think NSG pushing Junko earlier on invalidates her earlier townread on Junko. Basically I agree with early NSG more than late NSG!
