I have only played with scum!Shoshin once, and was fleeced (though i stand by the idea I would not have townread her so strongly if she were traditional scum; she was a 3p that game). I don’t know how risky her play as scum is, basically, but I know she’s a much better liar than I had previously thought.

Ignoring questions isn’t directly scum-indicative for her, though. She does that all the time as town. I have also seen her townlock players early as town and as 3p, so I don’t scumread her for that either. If anything, my lingering doubts come from being so bamboozled our last game, not because of her play. Well, with the exception of her scumread of me, that is - I go back and forth on whether or not she should be voting me here, since she’s never shown such paranoia about me and has no new reason to do so as town (it’s not like I tricked her last game or anything). She also has gone quieter about me a couple times after I’ve suggested I townread her, suggesting her read on me might have more to do with my read on her than my actual play (but like... I sympathize)

Yeah, I'm really indecisive, this game is at page 70, but I've decided to give my all, I'm sorry for the confusion everyone. Well, it sucks with these nominations, I wanted a Clem push like I've stated, at this point it's either all 3 of you are town / 2 town and 1 scum, there's no way 2 scum would be placed like that in the nominations, for reasons Volxen mentioned. Now I'm thinking of who the scum team would consist of and how they would play, but that's looking for the needle in the haystack since I don't know anyone here. I don't know if there's a scum in that nomination. Originally, I assumed it was an all-town nomination because I townread everyone there, that's why my original vote was for volxen who lacked activity. So I don't know if I should place my vote from the perspective " all 3 are town" or "there are 2 town and 1 scum". From the first, I'd go for volxen for lack of activity, although his posts are really good when he posts. From the second scenario / the choice would be shoshin or irrelephant, obviously. I am trying to look in each of your iso's and determine who would be scum out of the 2 of you.

Checking Shoshin's ISO, most of the day one interactions were between Shoshin and Irrelephant and they were accusing each other a bit, so whoever placed the nomination knew they'd go at each other, so there must be at least one smart player in the scum team that orchestrated this nomination.

Well, from my point of view, it's a 50/50 between Irrelephant and Shoshin. If they're both town, then a lynch is guaranteed on town either way, so it doesn't matter who we lynch. All 3 of them are strong players, and if we lynch either Shoshin or Irrelephant, they wouldn't go on each other and focus on scum hunting, currently they're tunneling each other, or at least that's how I see it. If one's scum and one's town, it's a 50/50. I don't think Volxen is scum, so he's not an option for me at the moment.

I'm waiting for other people to give opinions on this matter and hopefully we can reach a consensus on what is the most beneficial lynch for town.

I can also see scenarios where my original meta theory is wrong, especially if Shoshin is scum. If Shoshin is scum, I definitely think that implies that both Irrelephant and Auro are town. Irrelephant because I don't think that there are two scum nominees, and it is also my understanding that Irrelephant really dislikes busing as scum, and he also knows from our previous games that I definitely have the ability to "town it up". So I don't think that scum!Irrelephant would put himself into a position where he essentially has no choice but to bus Shoshin.

And Auro because if Shoshin and Auro are scum together, Auro would never approve of a {Irrelephant, Shoshin, Volxen} nomination list. Auro even moreso than Irrelephant is aware of what I am capable of as town, and because he and I have hydra'd together so much (most of our hydra games together have been town games), he is very aware of my thought processes and how I use logic as town. Irrelephant was a consensus townread on day one, and scum!Auro would know that I could eventually get to the point of being a consensus townread despite my day one play, and he wouldn't want to risk losing Shoshin on an even-numbered day. I think Auro realizes that it's very bad for scum for a red flip to actually occur on an even-numbered day, and he wouldn't agree to a nomination list like {Irrelephant, Shoshin, Volxen} and run the risk of Shoshin getting flipped.

So I don't think that Shoshin is scum with either of Irrelephant or Auro. If Shoshin is scum with two people who are also unfamiliar with me and my meta, then I could see how they decided on the {Irrelephant, Shoshin, Volxen} nomination list. Irrelephant because it gives her the opportunity to create WIFOM about why one of the two consensus townreads was included in the nomination list, and if she makes it through this even-numbered day phase it arguably makes her look more towny because she was a nominee, especially since the day 1 tier between us three was Irrelephant > Shoshin > Volxen, and why would scum nominate themselves if they aren't even the most townread out of the three nominees? And the third person in the nomination list was intentionally chosen to be a non-townread player on day one. Perhaps I was chosen at random from the group of {Volxen, DoubtingThomas, Clemency, Vedith, Scumreading, Fuscosco}, or maybe me saying that I could "eventually become obvtown and unlynchable" influenced their decision to some extent. Either way, if they assumed that I would continue to play on day 2 like I did on day 1, then they may have just assumed that I would be an easy mislynch, making it safe for scum!Shoshin to nominate herself alongside one consensus townread (Irrelephant) and the person to be mislynched (me). And it would be reasonable for them to assume that I would be an easy mislynch if all they were looking at was my day one play.

Wazoo, please respond to 1051. Also, to clarify, 520 doesn't say I want to lynch RC, it just says that anyone who wants to lynch him should wait until D2. Why do you keep misreading what I've said?

My point was that "wait until D2" assumes that he's nominated D2. After my flip, it is a virtual lock that he won't be.
Hopefully town remembers that he's singlehandedly driven a mislynch, despite being the scummiest player in the game.

If you flip town RC is my new priority lynch. He has asked us to BoP him, basically, so I’m fairly certain he’ll get lynched in that case.

I’m annoyed and I think RC knows it’s going to make us all more paranoid but like esp. me after I just said I’d BoP him

it's really at all fair that there's this expectation that i'm gonna be getting shit pushed by half the game then have to get a guaranteed scum or I'm going to get lynched on BoP
and if I don't call for BoP I'm just not going to have anyone listening to me, so... like... nah. you wouldn't find it okay if someone lynched you for incorrectly scumreading someone who was clearly approaching the game in bad faith. but because I'm -me- any kind of etiquette falls by the wayside.

so maybe I just can't play mafia. maybe there's no way to enjoy town and scum. i don't think there should be, but it feels more and more to me like this is just a big fucking waste of my time
