A joke setup, because bad ideas come easy to me:
3 goons
10 townies
During each day, lynch any number of players. The day only ends when a majority of players vote no lynch.
If exactly one scum was lynched in a day,, town gets a point. If 0, 2, or 3 scum are lynched in a day, scum get a point.
First team to two points wins. If at any point scum achieve parity, they also win.

My setup? I don’t think that’s true? Eliminating all scum on D1 is a scum win

Yes that is the bad idea part
Scum get one point for the day that three of them were lynched
Then another point for the following day, in which none of them are lynched
I guess it might be more balanced if I made it “if 1 or 2 are lynched in a day, town gets a point. Otherwise scum does” but it’s not a good setup regardless. It just adds a weird “how many do we think we’ve hit” WIFOM to the game that could be interesting as part of another setup

Even lynching 2 scum together is an immedaute scum win.
Am I missing something or do both these setups not meet the challenge requirements?

You only have to satisfy one of the conditions, if you are making the same mistake I made when reading last month's challenge.
Irrelephant's shitpost setup does not meet the requirements because a run of the setup only sometimes satisfies requirement1, but TemporalLich's setup qualifies.

Irrelephant's shitpost setup is valid, actually. One team gets a point each day and it's first to two, so it will always be over in three days or less.

but I thought this was going to be newbie queue month????????????
1 Mafia Goon
1 Mafia Roleblocker (fails on Bodyguards)
6 Town Bodyguards
1 Cop
maybe these requirements mean S_S wants a more ToS-immigrant-friendly newbie queue
2 Mafia Goons
2 Compulsive D1 dayvigs
1 Jester (beloved princess)
2 Werewolves
2 Vanilla Townies
or maybe we are just supposed to use PTs to make mafia easier to get into and more scumsided
2d3
Dark Consultation
: Whenever you become the only antitown player left in the game, the mod creates a PT and pulls an SE from the queue to be your demon-on-shoulder who will review the game and provide input. Players can't /in as SE to the queue unless also willing to provide this type of help. Their input is only available until 48 hours have passed in the following day. Games with an SE on the scumteam have no Dark Consultation
. Mastering Impersonation
: Once per game per player, a lone antitown player can PM the mod that they need to claim. A 36 hour claim PT will be created. The PT has the following contents:First post: boilerplate recommendations about fakeclaiming in 2d3 from the mod.
Requesting player: Posts with no restrictions
Demon-on-shoulder: Posts with no restrictions, not expected to read the entire game up to that point, just find out what's already been claimed and explain a good claim and why based on that.
Deceased mafia teammate: May only post the name of a role they recommend claiming and no other text.
Mastering Impersonation
is available as long as the lone antitown player isn't an SE.

The idea that this month would be used as a challenge to design something new for the newbie queue was thrown out there, but given we're already halfway into the month and the newbie setup is no small ask I'm not sure it's a good idea to try it rn. Maybe next month, or maybe we'll figure out without a challenge

I am already on the same page with you about all of that.

Sorry, I never got that memo.
I suppose I could add "A 9 player semi-open setup suitable for the Newbie Queue" to the list of options for this challenge.
It would probably be better to have it be separate from these, though, now that I think about it.

No, like irrelephant says, it works out better this way, a newbie queue challenge would deserve a full month.

Yes I conveniently skip the line saying at least ONE.

I kind of like the design even if I'm not sure about the numbers.

I think this is probably closer to 50/50, and last month Jingle said he preferred to see change history
