wow I can't believe mno was scum! great game everyone!

That was a fun game, but i'm a bit disappointed about the ending. I was expecting to get a bit more out of the last day, and i had a great gambit i wanted to try out. Ah well, a win is a win i guess, and the vast majority of the credit should go to Mnowax, who pulled off a solid gambit till the end!

I think without Armlx, the town might've had a chance. For a start, Mnowax would not have been deemed confirmed without proving his role, and i dont see why on the last night he would:

1. investigate someone he considered TOWN.
2. claim such an investigation when it would obviously draw attention on him. Had he come up with a bogus claim, it would have been a case of me or Klebian to hang today.

But, all in all, the game wasnt that difficult, due to the amount of townies acting incredibly scummy. As you can see, i was genuinely hoping to be INV'ed last night, but i guess it wasnt necessary.

Anyway, this was a very fun game to replace into, although truthfully, Mnowax had done the hard work. I just had the pleasure of hammering the last nail into the town's coffin.

I want to thank everyone for playing. This game had some twists to it (as guessed) in order to prevent the usual (mass claims, flavor, etc) from breaking it. I decided to try a variation on a cult with this game to see how it would work out. I'm a bit surprised that scum won, as they were in trouble at various times.

Both scum started as

mostly

investigation immune and SK's for all purposes. They joined into 1 scum group when they targeted the same town member on the same night (targeting each other would have done it as well)
Until Mnowax became Goon (and BM all game) an investigation simply turned up rubbish. Investigations on anyone else confirmed their flavor. After converting to Goon, Mnowax would have been discovered with bloody gym socks in his locker upon investigation.
This limited the usefulness of the Cop in what I thought was a positive way without removing the Cop from the game.

Well played game from most, though I still am left wondering how Mnowax got away...

i was jumping up and down when armlx found me innocent. I was the other one who targetted armlx that tar watched, which is why i hoped to god my kill went through that night. the doc had blocked the kill before and i was worried when armlx investigated me that i wasn't what i thought i was.

I thought mnowax was scum, together with armlx; didn't see BM coming up scum. Maybe I was too focused on the attacks armlx and Tar were placing on me to be really helpful and consider other possibillities besides at least one of them being scum. That, and I really didn't play in a game with a godfather before, so I didn't take the possibility of investigation immunity into account.

Anyway, thanks mod for this nice set-up! And congrats to BM and mnowax for the good play.

Yeah, armlx's result on mnowax was a bit misleading which I think made it a bit harder for us to win. I haven't played many games of mafia, and I'm not trying to be critising the setup (I think it worked quite well), but isn't an element of mafia lost if the scum don't have another scum to interact with during the day?

Apart from that it was a really fun game Ecto, had me guessing all along the way. Thanks for modding!

I can see that line of reasoning. I think it would be tough to make a larger game with a similiar twist to it though It could be done maybe with twin scum pairs that joined the entire group, or maybe 2 scum + an SK that could join. I wouldn't want it larger than 15 players though, so I'd also have a balance problem. I dont think I could tackle it heheh.

Ah but you see, i've been breadcrumbing SK pretty much since i replaced in. Obviously in the knowledge that there was no ACTUAL SK, i wouldnt have been counter-claimed. Hence, had you kept your vote off Armlx, i'd have claimed SK, in order to secure the lynch of a Mafioso.

I'm still kicking myself for not forcing the reveal of Tarhalindur's full results. Notwithstanding, this is an excellent question:

This was also the second game in a row where I was lynched in large part because my true role claim didn't fit in, and I had a red herring role.

This limited the usefulness of the Cop in what I thought was a positive way without removing the Cop from the game.

A cop who can only find one player in the game (and then, only part of the time) isn't really a cop. We were playing with a doc, a watcher and a misleading role. (Still, doc/watcher against 2 scum is probably balanced, though the multiple kill possibility could make that swingy.)

I later thought Battle Mage was likely clearly scum, though I didn't ever express it as clearly as I thought I should. Specifically, I picked up on his SK tells, and didn't want to lynch him because I thought we had a 3-scum team opposing. (Silly assumptions!) I was kind of surprised he didn't get lynched on the last day.

ty thesp. i tried very hard to conceal who i was, and i think this proves that my playstyle is valid. i acted quite crazy in this game, and once again i was able to walk away scot free on some things, plus watching the cop investigate me and clear me was quite cool. also the Tar armlx thing with WLC getting lynched was an interesting idea. i assumed that Tar would be telling everyone when WLC came up Doc that my name would be revealed, so i was hoping so badly that he would die that inght else i was screwed. i also hoped that there was no Maf Rb'er, for fear that i might have been screwed.
