chk: mechanics aside (like i said, mechanics Chara isn't here at the moment), i'd like to talk about Drew. my current thought is he's still inevitable as he has no results on him and hasn't claimed an important PR. i, again, don't TR him, but i'm also not convinced he's scum (or at least a good enough option for scum) as opposed to unpopular town. anyone with a result/any sort of okay claim feels like they're never going to get enough votes to be lynched. and i understand the argument and have used it here myself.

i also understand Amrun's mindset of "this is all very terrible, let's just lynch Drew" but that sort of compromise seems to me to be exactly how we mislynch unpopular town.

so in the interest of talking about hunting and not what happened during the night, what do you think scum Drew is going for here?
i may as well cover my bases in an attempt to do this without 3 pages of semantic argument/mechanic talk, so i'll say i'm

willing

to compromise lynch just fine. hell, i'll lynch Aaron if there's a reason for it that isn't his claim.

the amount of players who've decided to sit back and let others play for them is awful, and any of them who are town need to do something. i don't care if they've read any of the thread, really. frankly, PLing non-participants is healthy if they're not going to do anything later. scum aren't going to kill them for us if they're town.

on the other hand, the higher posters could probably stand to leave well enough alone occasionally,

Finally! non-mechanical talk. I think drew is stirring the pot and a lot of his post have seemed very off to me. Granted this was damn near 100 pages ago & I should probably skim thru his iso (as well as everyone else) weeding thru the mech talk seems grueling tho. And all that other pointless stuff



At one point I was very certain that V&M and Titus were town, but as the games progress my paranoia has grown especially with Titus going after me for something that’s pointless to probably started to wear me down. Idr what V&M did that I was meh on but I think I want them to just be town today. From what I’ve seen of everyone else I have a null paranoia on. Like I want to trust chkflip for defending me so hard on something that I basically didn’t care to defend myself on but I’m like what if He’s my white knight so that makes me really paranoid about him. The only one that’s just a classic null is Clem & the fonz I think & that’s just coz I haven’t seen them much

V&M is town here. i believe Titus to be as well. if you're town i think his defense of you reflects better on chk than not. the towncred gained from preventing your mislynch doesn't seem worth it to me, personally.

Let's talk about Drew.
- There's a post in my ISO regarding my non-mechanical read on that slot. There are six votes I mention in that quote where Drew is nothing short of grasping at any sort of town credibility he can get without formulating any sort of innocent, isolated thought of his own.
-- Furthermore, A LOT of his votes end up on counterwagons of his.
- He's defensive, resorting to AtE and AtF, when people continue to wagon him for his lack of anything close to an original thought.
- He isn't scum hunting. This new angle he just took was incredibly forced and doesn't even seem genuine in the slightest. I've seen whackadoodle shit before from town but this missing letters theory just reads like a panicked attempt for more town cred while attempting to misdirect to literally anywhere but him.

I'm probably missing some but that's off the top of my head.

You are right chk, in some regard. Large theme games where it is constant mechanics talk I am going to try to do something to see if it sticks, ie push on a weird typo or figure out if the Aaron thing was a scum ploy or not.

I said it before, but if you think anything I am doing I am doing with the sole purpose of looking town.......than I am doing a pretty shitty job at it! Chara said it best 'what is scumDrew going for with all this?'.

I am sheeping reads while I am trying to figure things out, last large game I played I was completely wrong on my reads until D4. So yes, while I go about my way of trying to figure things out I am also going to follow people I trust.......I said as much pretty much right from jump street.

And of course I am defensive, I am on the verge of being mislynched and I would like to continue to place the game.

I think there is a little reaching going on here.
You received a desperate (if we believe that) before your action took place. Whether it was beginning of night or not is another question.
But I can't find a scum motivation for claiming this and specifically claiming something that would cement A50 unless A50 is also scum.
Which means you're probably town but possibly misguided about what happened.

She is CLEARLY saying, “desperate” wasn’t in her role pm. I think Titus knows that her role has to have been changed. Titus is not terrible at understanding game mechanics, so I don’t understand why you are doubting this. Didn’t the fact that Expresso kill, eliminate cop-like abilities make you realize it’s very likely possible, if not actually probable?

If you're saying that you also gained a modifier then there would need to be a motivator or two renegades. Maybe even a motivated (as a modifier) renegade.
If something else changed (not a modifier change) it could be another gate-like role or something similar. In BT games (which are

not

normal) a mechanic can exist which has nothing to do with any of the roles, modifiers, or variants. Despite the whole 1/2 new/variant roles thing. Actually a straight up inventor that removes stuff instead of adding it would possibly count as just a modified inventor and thus not even be a variant.
Imagine the game has

That's interesting. I was thinking they likely have a split modifier. But I guess renegade and inventor could also coexist. Or even doubling up on inventor with one specific modifier they give. Or....going down a rabbit hole now.

If renegade isn't split and there is a willbooster then yeah I agree they are scum together. I think BEF is town.

I'm still hesitant to lynch nips. Him flipping scum doesn't resolve the A50 interactions and doesn't prove A50S alignment because there are still a ton of variables. While on the other side him flipping town creates a lot of paranoia in the town block and could be the start of the end so to speak. There isn't a single other lynch that would have the same consequences.
