1) Trying to determine intellectually what scum are likely or not likely to do is far less effective than determining what scum actually do and looking for it.
2) Most people's biggest weakness as scum is that they just don't have their heart in it and it's obvious.
3) People who have really out there reads, stick out too much, don't agree with the generally established townblock, and want to do their own thing which people don't largely disagree with get lynched incredibly consistently. They also incredibly consistently flip town.
4) When an average player makes a readslist in the game, their townreads and scumreads are generally less likely to be scum and their nullreads are more likely to be scum.
5) The people who realize they made mistakes and learn from those mistakes are the ones who end up improving.
6) Having bad reads doesn't make one a bad town player unless you force the entire town to act on your reads as opposed to being a team player.
7) Ideas about town unity and working together to win are great ideals but are, in most situations, lies. Someone has to get lynched. A chunk of players in most games will not have any reads on any players that are more consistent than at least one other townies read on that player. That's the nature of the game. Averaging all of the games reads is less effective as a method of play than relying on whoever in the game has the best read on each individual player. Whether it's more fun or not is another question entirely.
2019 stats: Town WR 76.7%, overall WR 81.667%, 1 scum defeat involving a major mod error in lylo vs 8 scum wins.

happy scumday
"Let us say that you are right and there are two worlds. How much, then, is this 'other world' worth to you? What do you have there that you do not have here? Money? Power? Something worth causing the prince so much pain for?'"
"Well, I..."
"What? Nothing? You would make the prince suffer over... nothing?"

Best Godfather Quote?
Friendship is everything. Friendship is more than talent. It is more than the government. It is almost the equal of family.

“Great men are not born great, they grow great . . .”

“Never hate your enemies. It affects your judgment.”

Tom, don't let anybody kid you. It's all personal, every bit of business. Every piece of shit every man has to eat every day of his life is personal. They call it business. OK. But it's personal as hell.

Accidents don't happen to people who take accidents as a personal insult maybe

I'd have to think about it

Do you mean in the abstract or in the actual game being played?

To learn from their mistakes, first they must admit that what they're doing are mistakes

I've realized this over time. My super confident reads are rarely scum. The reads that are 'meh' in nature to me turn out to be scum, sometimes.

this seems so astonishingly self-evident now I see it written down and yet it was never a thought I had myself before seeing it here
