I was in the wrong at the time, and I admit that. It was my oversight.

Finral, if your apology contains a conditional and/or something that can be justified as mansplaining, it isn't an apology, it's an excuse. "I'm sorry if you believed I inferred you used the word multiple times" is very lacking in comparison to something like "I'm sorry that I implied that you used that word multiple times."
