I think what you're missing is that scum-Pooky can still call town-Noraa obvtown. There's nothing stopping him from doing that, and it might be a good pocketing strategy.

He hasn't played with anyone here before and he immediately starts dumping walls into the thread about how unsure he is and starts picking at players as scum? He is just inviting people to analyze him with his playstyle atm.

perhaps it isn't too unlikely but im 100% sure that it is not the first thought that a townie has here.In post 705, Something_Smart wrote:Why is it unlikely?

What if that's what he believed would be the most genuine replication of what he would be doing as town and he's just not able to capture that well?SirCakez wrote:He hasn't played with anyone here before and he immediately starts dumping walls into the thread about how unsure he is and starts picking at players as scum? All right then. My role PM is green, so I do know for a fact that your claim that "all townies would think you are the same alignment initially" is inaccurate.
You have admitted that the logic does make sense, but that a townie would first think "they're probably the same alignment" and only afterward think "well actually, Pooky could be pocketing but he probably isn't covering for a teammate, so probably Noraa's just town." That's a natural train of thought for someone who hasn't seen this kind of thing before.
But this isn't my first rodeo. And it's not midway's, either. I have seen this kind of thing happen before, and my mental model is "if X says Y is locktown, then Y probably is town, but X could by anything." I have been using this logic for years. Your view of what a townie would think is overly simplistic-- it's probably based on what YOU would think. Which is reasonable as a starting point, but you shouldn't be so confident in it.

I think midway could be under the radar mafia but it's more one of those "this person seems townish but could be fooling me"-thoughts rather than an actual feeling if that makes sense?
Their play is productive enough that unless there's an airtight case on them they're probably going to be a mid-lategame sort/going to be caught through interactions with teammates, or at least that's what I'm feeling.
Kind of siding with S_S in that you could be right that they TMI-ed, but I'm not really feeling the same way looking at the post.

If we used that logic, I'd be rolling town in every single game. Someone calls me locktown in every game.In post 717, Something_Smart wrote:All right then. My role PM is green, so I do know for a fact that your claim that "all townies would think you are the same alignment initially" is inaccurate.

Well, maybe the logic doesn't apply in this case, which is useful information. But we're not debating the validity of it; we're debating whether it's reasonable for town to believe it.In post 719, Noraa wrote:If we used that logic, I'd be rolling town in every single game. Like Eren Yeager, Cakez was moving forward with his analysis; there's usually some players who move out of RVS in a very forced way; they eventually get what they wanted, but weren't actually acomplishing a good read of anyone, they just happened to move out the game of RVS. Cakez, on the other hand, came to the game and moved quickly out of RVS with a mentality that comes only from town; a mentality based on "ok, who's scum" and genuinely not knowing the answer. In post 671, midwaybear wrote: Pink Ball, were you serious when you said that Cakez's 95 was a great insight? It feels like "eh" reasoning to me.
Cakez's reasoning is not the best based on content, it is the best to be trusted as town and leaving no doubt about it, and this game is won mainly by recognizing who's on your side.
