No, Flavor Leaf is like a...third-rate secondhand copy of GreyIce that has suffered from corrupted files degrading the quality of the copy as to make it a vastly inferior version to the original.
Which is to say, anything of FL's style which is good, GI does better; the weaknesses of FL's style, GI lacks.
(Say what you will about FL; I'm not intending to insult FL here. You can think he's good or think he's shit or think he's okay. But GreyICE is better than FL ever could be, at both town and scum, in every feasible way. Comparing GI to FL is an insult to GI.)

That was a classic "throw shit at the wall and see how things progress into suddenly hating something really badly and switching tacts into a dog sinking teeth into something and seeing what shakes out". It's a very common aggro town play and while my husband is competent enough to play like this as scum, this is a good sign he's actively trying to sort things.
Infact... his approach to this game reminds me of how he approched an old PYP game. I thought he was scum for doing a mechanic focused play there and not really elaborating and then hyper tunnelling people... and he was town.
Meta is garbage, but at minimum we see what GreyICE manages to shake out of the tree before we ever kill him, and I happen to like what he's doing.
