There are exactly three players in this game that have access to private topics.

when i saw this, i thought "oh, there's probably a traffic analyst/pt cop in game" and then i roll traffic analyst lol ecks dee.

the fact that the game requires 10 confirms instead of 11 makes me think this is a 9v4 game (traitor) which would amybe fit with the gimmick?, but also i think i've seen mastina say somewhere that 9v4 normals are a plague to society.

here's where i would write out what the above means wrt possible fake positives and negatives but it's 2am i'm too tired i'll think about it tomorrow, brain cannot logic right now - just remember that mastina does not give info arbitrarily. there is a reason we know that.

okay i am rested i had a coffee, let's think.

at least two mafia must be in a pt together, even if there's a traitor. so that means there is no way there's a town neighbour (since they would immediately know that their neighbour must be scum) and there's no masons. meaning i don't have to worry about false positives*. and since the number of the players in pts is *exactly* three, that means there is no traitor. (unless 9v4, but uh probably not.) which means that i don't have to worry about false negatives, but i need to remember that once two scum are dead, my role is useless**.

* while the most obvious not-necessarily-mafia roles that return a positive to me are masons and neighbours, we shall not forget the mailman. while i *guess* the public information was meant to be used as "ay yo traffic analyst, you're basically a lazy cop", then why isn't my role a lazy cop...? actually, a neighbourizer doesn't have access to a private topic right now either? hm.

** there is a possibility that the mafia team is {mafia -something-, mafia neighbour, mafia traitor neighbour}, and if the mafia neighbour dies, then both scum return a "cannot communicate" result. this however, feels like... shitty game design. (not that i'm the one to talk, but.)

This has been on my mind a bit, but have mods recently started putting info like this in their rulesets? This was an oddly specific detail to include and if there’s a neighborhood it means there’s a guaranteed scum in there.

ik i just outed the idea that titus/flubber are s/s, but having cooled off from that, meg/flubber have potential. namely, the age old iconeum tell - two main wagons, both being scummy but refusing to vote one another, are ++likely scum/scum.

now, i want to see where meg tries to go before outing this theory. but if they also try to dogpile omega and keep avoiding flubber... i will be raising eyebrows.

also, checking mathblade will likely be a good idea. he's a god at scum or something like that. but i'll think about this a bit more after nightfall. in such a playerlist, where i don't have a confident read on almost anyone, policy checking whoever is really good at scum might be not a horrible idea. even though it feels... icky? oh well.
