Since you understand how it works, can you explain it to me?
If their second vote is on wagon, they gain a one-shot vigilante for that night
If their second vote is off wagon, that player dies at the end of the day along with the original elimination
If their second vote is on nobody, a random
town-aligned
player dies
Once they place their second vote, it can't be moved during that same day
That's how I understand it

I do know i have at least decent townreads on the other potential targets which is causing a bit of a mental block w/me. ive not been a fan of the kate bishop slot, which i need to re-examine at some point to flesh out (maybe later today?). if the day was to end in a few minutes f

My top two townreads lie in you and unwnd. Ive liked pretty much everything youve had to say so far, even if i disagree (see:toog) and overall youve made yourself pretty easy to hold high in my books. Unwnd I am less of a fan of content-wise, but i think their interaction w luke was very likely town, and i mirror that thought process in their attempts to engage and have me produce content, which scum totally does not need.
im agreeing with a lot of what luke is saying so id put him as the reads im most trusting of
Manatee wants me dead because I am the only player who is willing to do what town needs to do, which is to QUESTION Manatee's alignment. Her reflex OMGUS vote, massive tunnel and closed mind to re-evaluating her position is exquisitely and perfectly
survavilistic
. How am I the only one to see this?
Manatee could be scum, but I'm thinking more along the lines of third party BS. At the very least, we should discuss it. Sure I could do like everyone else, shut my big trap and kiss ass, but someone needs to ask the questions that must be asked.
Now why, as scum, or as Manatee's buddy, would I risk my own gamelife doing this? Why would i, as scum, stick my neck out and go
whoa whoa whoa here
to the maniac brandishing the vig assault weapon? Why, as scum, am I not being obsequious to Manatee like the overwhelming majority of players? Why I am not ingratiating myself with her so that I could try to influence her to vig a player I would know to be townie?
Please put your thinking hats on.

I am 100% certain that Manatee will kill me. She will not change her mind. LLD will not change her mind either - she never does. WhemeStar made the fateful decision to sheep every one of LLD's bad reads. Lukewarm's head is stuck in a death tunnel against me. All the "arguments" against me belong in a burning landfill. I am not reading the posts in proper order? Just kill me. Townies always read every post fully and in chronological order. Scum bounce back and forth! Geniuses.
You all are a bunch of worthless negative utility roles. Go ahead and kill me. Make my day. Hang your heads in shame for the remainder of the game while I shake my mine with pursed lips of disapproval in the dead thread.

spooky - maybe Manatee's alternate kill ability sends people to that world? Maybe someone in this game has a role that can commune with that world? I'd be willing to accept the possibility of a second thread representing the new world, but I think we're in the "real game" right now. If this isn't the real game I feel like the game should have been classified as bastard and it wasn't (though it was said this could be "lolbalanced" so )

not everyone's been online to even see this claim.
I see it now. I haven't seen the show but flavor-wise as a character representing Satan I think the whole "I get more powerful as town dies" is plausible. No way to tell if he's actually going to unlock the specific roles he claimed though. I do feel like if I had that role I wouldn't call it confirmable in the way he did - there would be no way to know when it could be confirmed and that would get you into hot water later... like now(?)

I find it strange that Kyouko's read is "secret" - I am catching up and I haven't gotten there yet.
My read isn't secret, that's GiF I think that has a secret 5th tinfoil read he'll unveil if he comes back from wherever he's going toNight. GiF also had a secret fourth
meal
read that at this point I think he did out because he had a POE of 4 not too long ago.

Meek is a good word for it, but I've seen conftown!Manatee struggle like this with reads before. She was FN in my last mini normal with her and had the same issues where she was unsure about reads and was disheartened that nobody was reaching out to her about them (like she just mentioned regarding DGB). I think she's nervous because she has so much power to swing this game and doesn't want to fuck it up, and she's feeling left high and dry. So I do understand why you're scumreading her, or at least suspicious of her, but I don't agree fwiw.

The thought crossed my mind, but nah.
Yeah I'm against massclaiming.
I was just gonna troll until the eventual shock, but I realized that it is possible that a random death can happen given the nature of the claimed so far and if we mislim both we're going straight to the MeLo D2.
So I kinda wanted to give ppl warning to take today's eliminations more seriously.
I feel like manatee placing hurt vote on the elim wagon and shooting you while you're commuted may be a decent play to avoid possible D2 MELO. But surely scum would kill manatee toNight. Actually, do you not think manatee will be killed for some reason? I would assume she would be, so the D2 MELO wouldnt be a concern
GiF would need to know when the yeet takes effect. It's compulsive, but it sounds like a night action. knowing when it resolves is critical because I will flip some fucking tables if manatee were to kill him doing this.
If it works like a commute it should be scooby doo gucci jacuzzi but yeah, I'd have the egg on my face if GiF died in this way

Commute precedes roleblock.
Yeah I realized this as soon as I sat down to continue my catch-up this morning. Your claim was on the page and I immediately thought about what I'd theorized yesterday and was like "oh wait, I'm a dumbass, you can't block a commute"

Because of GiFs claim he'll be out of the game toMorrow - it would mean if we mislim 4 times with our 2 double-days D1 and D2, that that combined with NKs and GiF's disappearance would but us down 7 town on D3, possibly down 6 if GiF returns. But being down 6 in what is presumably 10:3 is ELO, and if GiF doesn't return or there are any unexpected additional kills, D3 we wake up endgamed.

I think this is where I'm at given the inconsistent evolution of the claim and statements about what the claim would eventually be that didn't quite line up.
Having looked into the source material the character being claimed in question is the main character of a show called the devil is a part-timer where said demon-lord/devil/whatever ends up losing the fight and him and a few of his subordinates end up on earth with no real power and so he ends up essentially being a McDonald's cashier. He is still able to draw power from negative emotions of humanity although notably I don't believe it was ever seated that he gets power from their deaths. He usually ends up using the power in ways that comically end up being not evil despite him and his crew retaining their evil alignment.
I think Dunn summarized the weirdness around it pretty well alongside Luke I believe who did the same.
One last part that is speculative on my part as to how town reacts in this situation but we were explicitly told when we got our roles that the flavor justification part can be treated as public knowledge not as mod given information and it even says that in the original rules post and yet that information is far as how the role and flavor tie together was omitted entirely. Why? My guess is because the flavor blurb explains why this roll makes so much sense as a mafia role and wasn't easily adaptable.
Have retired for good; Life is too busy to have time or energy for mafia. It was fun~

Like this was another post I really didnt like the looks of. I feel like wheme's not trying. Not the first time hes made this kind of post. At first he indicated it would be hard to keep up, but more recently is saying he is able to keep up now, but still isn't really posting anything game related. Seemingly has some edge case reads which make me think it's all the more likely that the consensus is wrong and he's big chillin off of wagons that maybe are going to flip town
Do you think Toog flips town?
When I made the post you quoted, I figured it was maybe a 60-70% chance he flips town. Not the best odds at hitting scum, but better I think than the odds of finding scum above my D1 POE line were at that point. Now I find it more likely he'll flip scum though after the posts around the time he made his claim.
