Not sure I follow what you mean but I don't see much drawback to this plan as it is.

like work off of whichever gets townread, create static worlds, have new worlds prepared for when the townread one of you trusts

We start at 80% town, unless we mistrust d1 this is only going to get worse and less town will have to be tricked by scum for a wrong discussion.

We don't need to take the whole do, just reach a decision about the rest of the game.

The point is that we wouldn't need to change the plan UNLESS someone flips scum. At that point town would be once again in its greatest majority (the number of scum is halved) and could then reevaluate based on whatever happened.
The thing is that we need consensus for this to work so we need to decide whether we are going to do this plan or not.

I could also be overlooking something but it seems to work in theory at least.
Additionally condensing the game into only a few decisions means that scum will have to be much more bold if things go poorly. We force them to make risky plays early and possibly out themselves.

Remember we win if we can all successfully identify one scum.

Is that accurate? I don't think that's accurate.

Picture a final four, 1 scum remaining. I might correctly identify the last member of the scum team, but if somebody else exits the game with that person, we lose.
