I guessed (correctly) that they were saying that it felt right because it’s been repeated multiple times in games we’ve played together that I’ve been nothing but Town. DW confirmed that was the case. I wasn’t too defensive - I correctly understood the motivation behind the vote, and told DW not to fall for a basic logical fallacy.
