Excluding 5 people besides Pooky for no reason is weird, but it's not like anyone one of those players couldn't come in and either affirm or dispute the claim. If it was me, I'd have just claimed and left Dunn's theory dead in the water. It's not really that manipulative imo, because if Roden is actually a mason and the partner claims then everything Dunn says is moot. It really only applies if Roden is fake claiming.

So like maybe you can make an argument that Dunn knows Roden is fake claiming cause they are both scum...but that doesn't seem to be the argument you're making?

I don't think that scum!dunn wanted to make this argument.

I think that he intended to quote them, copy them, post them in a scum chat, but accidentally posted those reads lists here, and then was backed into explaining why he did that.

I think that he was, in thread, going to pressure for Roden to out his partner.

But in PT, going to try and work out who the partner could be himself.

Sure. I think that Roden is fake claiming. I also believe that due to the unique mechanics of this set up, there is no benefit to the remaining potential mason keeping quiet. They are already "burned" and would have to claim immediately following Roden's death, before anyone else dies.

The benefits of forcing him to out are:
We don't incorrectly kill off town!mason!Roden now that a large portion of the player list does not believe the claim

If I am wrong, and the people who don't believe are right, we correctly identify scum!Roden who is fake claiming


Because we are flipless, we cannot just let the bernard claim stay hidden until late game anyways. Because, then scum would being able to fake claim Bernard later in the game, and not even be counter claimed because Bernard is already dead and we did not know.

(If we were not flipless, I would agree that bernard should stay hidden until he came under fire OR the day before ELO, but that could lead to a false clear in this game specifically)

2. Genuine tone, approach to outting themselves after, do you think scum can sell themselves better than the genuine article.

It is weird to have felt just an hour ago that Dunn and I completely mindmelded on the issues that masons cause in a flipless game

But then to feel completely at odds at the very next move he made after that.

Like, just before his post with Pooky's reads list, I was actually mid-typing up a post that I still have the draft of where I said "Dunn immediately thought about the way that the scum team could abuse the claim, and set out to stop it. Town choice imo (plus I feel like we had the exact same thought, which made me feel all warm and fuzzy about dunn's alignment)"

I am going to walk away from this game, and just pray that bernard will have either outed or everyone will have checked in as NotBernard, so that I can reset with either piece of concrete information.
