to touch on this more, if that's the case and theoretically scum!vivax is close to a ML, why do you think he jumps to vote you for that reads list you did or whatever and then switch back to Ircher? i feel like scum would be a little wearier of moving around votes like that, especially for reasons that may seem 'inadequate' to the other players

unless you're suggesting they're both scum in this scenario?

i'm working from the assumption ircher is scum who came back to the thread, saw the massive wagon on him, and probably went into antispew, yes, that's why i said i'm okay with him getting hammered soon

I like Ydrasse as town based on how things have progressed so far. Not really seeing the ausuka wagon. Not feeling mastina, even if I disagree on strategy.

I mean, I've been paying attention to the game but I haven't been completely there until now

I'm building up on reads right now. I don't particularly remember much of what Titus has been saying, so I can't really make a blanket statement on if I agree or not, and I'd rather finish my readslist in the background before I am confronted with a "Do you agree with this" statement

Reading this exhange in light of the VCs, I'll lean fire town. Moderate Ydrasse town and lean Roden scum.

The Ydrasse wagon that develops later feels like an excuse to spam.

Rule of 3 doesn't mean that someone mentioning 3 people is more likely scum. It just means that if scum do mention 3 people, it's more likely to include exactly one partner.

Also it's a statistical "rule" that I don't think ever held any meaningful basis, and many scum players who are aware of it have been known to purposefully violate it anyway because it throws people off who follow it religiously

My stance on Ircher is that I didn’t really care for their posting. At the time I voted it was just a pressure thing, Townread in Uncrowned was also willing to go on it, and I didn’t feel in great company on the ydrasse wagon.

I’d probably be more into believing Ircher!town if they had come back harder against Titus. I have seen agreeable scum!Ircher but from memory can’t recall a combative scum!ircher. Not in the same way they are willing to bump heads as town so, still fine with a vote there.

Also don’t think Ydrasse wagon is as sketchy as I first thought. I don’t claim to know how to read Ydrasse but my gut reaction to the “carefree, floating, nonchalant” play is that it’s a scum thing from Ydrasse specifically. I’d go into the psyche behind that but I’m likely not pushing there over Ircher or other scumreads like fire/Klick.

Probably, tend to get burned when I try to adopt other metrics.
Still feel good about my reads roster, but that #earlyparanoia leaves a bad aftertaste regardless and is worth bumping Titus down a notch.

Maybe my only talent is being a bumping, bouncing boulder that somehow manages to reach the high-score while smashing the flipper's gimmicks in the process? My life sure felt like it so far, I'm better at following instinct in mafia while outside of it I'm the exact opposite.

I think it does have a basis in psychology. If you tell someone to come up with 50 random coinflip results, most people will have too few long streaks of one result, because outliers like that don't feel as "random". Similarly, if scum pick a "random" group of 3 people, they're more likely to mix in alignments proportionally than if it were actually random.

But yes, it doesn't work on people who are aware of it, and it is easy to manipulate. (I've done so as scum plenty of times.)
