Don't worry about it, Shadow. You've just grown a long list of players who have accidentally done that very same thing.

Hmm...bizarre behavior from Coron. This makes me more tempted to think he's pro-town (since scum don't want to risk a 50-50 shot at losing one of their members), but of course, that could just be what he wants me to think.

If no one claims a generic role, I want SquareKnight and Coron to duel.

I really can't help my role name. Unfortunately, at this point, I would be surprised if Coron claimed a generic role.

I would really prefer
not
to duel, as

1) I know I'm innocent
and
2) I have no reason to believe I have any special dueling ability.

Furthermore, I'm still suspicious of Mgm, and more suspicious due to his insistence that it's
unreasonable
to suspect him of being a serial killer. It's not ludicrous to suggest that Mgm and Puzzle would be treated the same if the key issue is identifying yourself as a character who is here for the tournament. I think it's perfectly reasonable...and I'd expect him to acknowledge that fact if he were pro-town. Instead, he's acted as though I'm insane for suggesting such a thought.

I'd really prefer not to duel at all, but...if I had to choose between Mgm and Coron, at the moment I'm undecided about which I'd rather duel. I'd obviously prefer that we talk about this before moving forward. I'll step up my participation to aid in that.

Read the mod's quote again. It's the
whole quote
that made him turn SK, not just the name claim. Just name claim and find out how preposterous the idea is for yourself.

To me, this looks like an attempt to stop people from claiming.

I think at this point it would be in the town´s best interest to have a "controlled" duel, choosing by majority both the duellers AND the winner. (if the one we choose to lose refuses to do that (say, send a fixed combination of RPS); we lynch him) My candidates for dueling right now are MGM and Coron. And I want MGM to die (We need to test this SK issue)

If Mgm is already slated to die in your book, Obelix, why does it matter who duels him? After all, if you want Coron to duel someone, making him duel Mgm will make it impossible for him to duel anyone.

I don't like the set up idea, smells too much of committing suicide.

I don't think a tie is possible. And why are you complaining about the setup?

#1 If it goes right, you win. If it doesn't we've found a scum.
#2 You won't have to duel anyone else today regardless of whether you win or lose.

What if...
both players send in paper paper paper?
it's about a 1/27 chance of happening every duel(not that one in particular, but in general)

Mgm: The way the mod quoted Puzzle (removing everything except the name and motivation) is certainly a point in your favor. But I'm highly suspicious of how aggressively you've reacted to the implication that you might be a serial killer.

You say I'm trying to prevent claims. I hope you realize that won't work. Because either:
a) The town believes that name claiming turns you into a serial killer, so you die and we find out the truth.
or
b) The town doesn't believe that, so there's no barrier to claiming.

I suppose some sort of wishy-washy middle ground is possible, but I find it rather unlikely.

For the record, I'm fairly certain I won't become a serial killer if I name claim, because I'm not a threat to the town. I'm not even here for the tournament.

I find Coron's behavior highly suspicious because he has yet to contribute anything of worth to the game. He's indicated his willingness to duel repeatedly, and he's steadfastly refused to say anything about his role. And that's it. Oh, and asking for clarification on the rules.

My guess would be that either Coron has no abilities at all and considers himself expendable (if pro-town) or he is aware of having some ability relating to dueling.

I'd also expect a little more participation out of mathcam.

Of course my reaction was agressive! You can't imagine what it's like to get a crap theory thrown back at you again and again as if you're throwing it against a wall without any actual proof backing it up.

If name claiming makes people serial killers, all non-generic people will turn SK eventually. Can you imagine how many kills that would cause later in the game?

MGM; the reason why I believe that is true is the "last man standing" wins part of the description. I believe it is a very real possibility, and thus worth testing. If I am wrong, we lose a townie. Otherwise, we get an SK and almost the certainty of roleclaim=SK.

I chose Coron as the dueller because I do not trust MGM, and I find it likely that MGM would not lose the duel, so we would lose his opponent and then lynch him. If I have to lose someone, Coron seems a good candidate. In any case, I would like everybody to say whether they agree with the controlled duel proposition, and what would be their choices.

Wake up and smell the tumbleweeds _Obelix_. We've come to a duelling tournament. Of course the last man standing wins! That has nothing to do with serial killers.

I don't trust you either. The way you phrased this, you want us both dead regardless of what happens.

I've had enough of this crap.
