Trade secrets!MacavityLock wrote: How do you go about signaling that you're town? I think I manage to do it instinctively, as I've never actually been mislynched (well, once, but there were extenuating circumstances). But I don't do it consciously. Is there something that you put forth the effort to do?
I don't know really. I just try to avoid the pitfalls of making myself look scummy. Like if I think a person attacking me is scum, I don't say it immediately because then I'm just giving the guy ammunition to say OMGUS! What I try to do is disprove the attack on me, wait a bit, and then work around to showing why I think the person is scummy. It's almost the same thing as turning right around and calling your attacker scum, but the subtle difference seems to keep people from suspecting you as much.
I think sincerity is a big plus. Most people can read sincerity in posts. They might not say it, they might not even think about it consciously, but it you try to be sincere, people tend to recognize it.
Now if only I could effectively do those things as scum, I would be dangerous!
Talk nerdy to me.

I ought to damn Budja for throwing me off guard, honestly. I was led to believe that I was untargetable once Boxman and Percy were dead (that's why I bussed them), but oh well. He deserves the credit for his clever win.MacavityLock wrote:Damn you SC! You gave Budja the win.

Are we on, elvis_knits? That post was made in earnest...StrangerCoug wrote:Also, by strategy failing me in general, I mean that I'm not good at it. You say it like it's a brand new concept to me, which it isn't. You can play a game of chess with me, and while I have an opening in that game that I feel serves me well, anybody short of a newcomer can beat me. Play me after this game is over if you don't believe me.
No. Seriously. Play a game of chess with me when this is over if you don't believe I suck at strategy.
(And while I'm talking to you, sorry about that threatening post I made. I got over my head.)
Someday I'll know the logic behind not claiming a PR when you're getting strung up.
Today isn't that day. That day 1 wagon still makes my head reel in retrospect.
I'd love to know what my role would have done. It was quite the crazy little feller'

Hi guys, it was a great game and I really enjoyed it.
Boxman was retarded, which hurt. I made a critical error in my fakeclaim (the 6 shots rather than 5), because I had an extra night in my head for some reason, and I'm still kicking myself over it - I think I may have been able to be a little more convincing without it!
We knew Budja was scum on the night I used all my roleblocks - I had three and could use them at any time, and on night 2 I blocked elvis, Iecerint and MacavityLock. As Budja was the only non-scum that didn't get a block, we knew he was the SK. The problem being, of course, that we couldn't say
@Budja: Why exactly did you kill SpyreX? I thought he would have been the least likely target for you...
Congrats especially to elvis for a great town game, and thanks to Drake for modding.

we knew it! If we had managed to block his kill it wouldn't have mattered, as he targeted SpyreX too. @Budja: Why exactly did you kill SpyreX? I thought he would have been the least likely target for you...

I got really nervous when Percy fakeclaimed busdriver. The double-SX kill was something I really couldn't explain very well -- it looks like my explanation of both factions thinking he was the other scum faction was only half-true. I knew he was scum, though. I was thrilled when the error was noticed; it had fit so well with what had gone on.
ML was actually my second choice for investigation D1. I was originally targeting mathcam, but I changed my mind. ^^;

I'll have the roles up after I get back from a late-night diner run.
@Stranger: You were nominally untargetable (it prevented elvis from redirecting your kill the night before), but the Arsonist's kills were unpreventable, which overrode your passive ability. As you'll see when the full role PMs are up.

Even if you were guilty of a mod error, I would argue that Budja should still deserve credit for what he did.DraketheFake wrote:I'll have the roles up after I get back from a late-night diner run.

Oh, please. I'd like to know where it says that the arsonist's kills cannot be prevented.
