El Goosuki didn't put up much of a fight. I thought it horrific to see them round upon the defenceless creature and tried to raise my voice to stop them, but too late I realised my hand was already gripping the blade. I advanced with determination not entirely my own. I drove it into their chest, and with a little sigh they went forever silent.

The knife clattered on the ground, the sound so loud in the still, ancient air. Most have left now, but I can feel the eyes watching me from the dark recesses of the city. And I know that we will find each other once more, to once again kill another in our quest for... for what?

I can smell the ocean. It soothes my chaotic mind. I was always terrified of water as a child. At least, I think I remember that.

"He comes. Can you feel it?" said the hooded figure to her compatriots. Though she could see no faces, she could feel their excitement vibrating in the air. Once again they would call upon his servants, and once again there would be blood and blessed madness, sacred insanity.

He creeps down the dark alleyways, a twisted bottle filled with human blood - a treasure he swiped from the body from the night before - in his cold, clammy hands. Although he has seen the servants of the Great Old Ones before, the immensity and power of the Ritual running through his head every night serves only to highten the fear, like a lightning bolt rushing down his spine every time the gruesome beast materialises and heads to do his bidding.

The road stinks of rotting corpses. His leather jacket - a token of his old life - is held to his mouth and nose, attempting to blot out the stench of death that he has wrought and encouraged night after night. It was here that the beast attacked for the first time. He could see the poor soul now; lying on the floor bleeding to death, moaning in ecstacy, his innards exposed to the moonlight and the horrid stench of decay all about him.

Hearing voices reverberating down the halls, he clutches his jacket to his feeble frame and rushes outside. Knowing that he does not have much time he claws at the ground ferociously, much like a beast clawing his prey to death.

His head is brimming like a cauldron, full of incantations, faces, and gruesome beasts from the otherworld. Memories of his childhood float in that space between waking and dreaming, and he suddenly realizes that this descent into madness, this quest for final fulfilment of the Great Old One's desires has claimed the only thing he has left...

... he has forgotten his own name. The memories swirl around his head, and his hands stop clawing at the earth. His eyes glaze over, as he attempts to remember who he is.

He tosses the bottle in its hiding place in preparation for the Ritual tomorrow. His name is gone, vanished, consumed by the one he serves, as soon all things will be consumed.
