FIXED: Table gap

This issue has been bugging me for a while, and I'd love some help.

Basically, whenever I post one of my scumpoints tables, a massive gap appears in front of it.

For example:

Player	Score
X	50
Y	50
Z	50
A	50
B	50
C	50
Black	50
White	50
Green	50
Blue	50
Pink	50
Red	50

Is there anything I am doing wrong to cause the gap?

Those spaces are the line breaks between your [/row]s and your [row]s - if you put the whole code on one line, it should work.

We have looked at a solution to this problem, already. Here is where we are currently:

Hey, how come the tables are acting all wonky? I haven't used them much, so I never noticed...

The more table rows you add, the more outrageously large the top margin gets! What's going on?

It's a formatting bug caused by the line feed between rows. If you collapse the table so it goes[/row], that extra space disappears. I haven't tracked down why it happens, yet.

It's dam# hard to manage tables when they're all on one line though

The reason for the gap is that phpBB interprets each carriage return as a new line, and therefore appends a <br> after each line. Since <br> isn't a valid child of <table>, the carriage returns are placed before the table. The best solution to fixing it is to remove all the carriage returns once you've finished your table.

I don't know why it didn't do it in phpBB2 (at some point I will look at JEEP's old code). Will continue to look into it, but I'm not real hopeful.

That table gap is really annoying, but the other is even more un readable.
