Jil, did you read those links I gave you? They were to the pages 'Commonly Used Abbreviations' and 'A Beginners Guide to being Awesome at Mafia.' That is what helped me as a newbie, and I thint it would really help you, too.

My top 2 suspects:
Secret Project: I don't like their extreme level of aggressiveness. They have a way of pushing their cases that looks scum-motivated.
Mastin: Mastin's meta is writing extreme walls with way too many points in it that makes the reader of the game rip out all of their hair roots, but in this game he has given nothing. (P-edit: Just realized that he said he was putting it together. Nevermind.)
splitfarvle: Still don't like that sheep.

I'll be honest, none of these reads are very strong.

Also, I don't agree with splitfarvle and Mastin, but yea, Secret Project's kinda making me wonder at the moment.

The Beginner's guide is extremely helpful, I would recommend you do. (No offense, but you don't really....how do I say this in an unoffensive way? You don't seem to know what you're doing. Do you know much about mafia and how to get reads?

@Mastin: SRSLY, fewer posts of one-line assertions and fluff and more analysis. It isn't that you're "trying" to explain your reads, you just flat out AREN'T. I have yet to hear a single word as to why I am your #1 scumread, or as to why your vote is on the same wagon as your #1 scumread.

I'm not saying you must go back to massive walls, but WallYou was WAY more helpful than whatever version of you that the mothership replaced WallYou with.

TBH, PlayerB's tunneling is striking me as null. His wagon should die immediately.

^In this case, they are probably both scum, because PlayerA is distancing from his partner in the first post to make him appear townish if PlayerB flips scum (also known as bussing), but then changes his mind by the second post and decides he wants his partner alive. Of course, people can change their minds about things, but unless they provide a good reason, they're most likely scum.

I just want to note that finding scum is not an exact art. These are ways for

maybe

finding Mafia, but it is not 100%, or even 75%. But it should helpm nonetheless. Also, read games. This is also a good way to get better at finding scum.

Anyway I'll have a real post tomorrow but I did want to address this "rolefish" thing yoshi keeps going on about, since that was my post.

It was not my intention to rolefish at all. I just wanted some insight into what was going on in your head and offered up the first thing that popped in my head.

After you pointed out that what I said was a possible rolefish, the first thing I wanted to do was to go on with the game as if I hadn't said those words, since the were subsidiary to the point I was trying to make. I didn't want to dwell too long on them for two reasons: 1-It's really not that important for my scumhunting purposes. It was more of the ramblings on inside of my head. 2-There is a possibility you could be a pr and any more discussion about it would only bring more attention to yourself. I was willing to just let it slide. But since you have built the majority of the case against us with this single thing, I feel obligated to defend myself somewhat.

Well, on the bright side. At least it's not a scum player being replaced. Scum players replacing in tend to do better than their replacee, a good 75% of the time. (And worse for another 10%, with the remaining 15% being "roughly the same".) So I hate it when they get replaced by someone like, say, Khan. *coughcoughnewbiesevenfourtwocoughcough*

Emphasis mine. How are the bolded parts ever townie reactions to what a player is trying to characterize as "subsidiary" (aka minor) goofups? Townies usually aren't afraid to clarify minor goofups. How does this post come from a townie mentality?

And yes, rolefishing is part of the case, but by no means the whole thing. I'm fine with attention being brought to myself if that's what it takes to lynch scum. I don't need you to look out for my best interests.

Is this your entire defense? I read this as "I didn't filter out anything that might be scummy before I typed it, and I now regret typing it." This might be true, but it does not make you any less scummy. The only thing that might be pro-town is your alleged concern that DarthYoshi might be a PR, and so your willingness "to just let it slide." But I'm not sure that even this is pro-town -- if DarthYoshi's response made you think that he might be a PR, then (a) others may have drawn the same conclusion, so it is too late to sweep it under the rug; and (b) your post really did operate as a rolefish, whether you intended it to do so or not.

In post #288, mastin2 indicates that he finds it unlikely that both hydras are town. I agree; but whereas mastin2 has focused on WormyKrew, I think Secret Project is the more likely of the two hydras to be scum, due (partly) to flaws I see in his scum-hunting and (mostly) to his fallacious responses to the accusations leveled against him. However, it is very easy for me to see WormyKrew as scum -- his buddying up to Secret Project and chainsaw defense of him come immediately to mind. I am also suspicious of the way he quickly concluded that Secret Project was town, and then tried to protect him from pressure.
