We had no tank, so I was the closest thing we had. I'd Pop my ult and just run in, knock someone against a wall, hammer someone else, see a third one run away from me in fear, while my teammates mop up the other two in a 4v2 as I wail on the squishy backliner.

Took a look at Mordekaiser, he looks awesome.

Zhonya's Hourglass is a good survivability and damage item. Banshee's Veil is great if casters are the problem or some of the AP/Magic Resist items. If it's physical damage then the Zhonyas and a frozen heart are all that's really available to you off the top of my head.

With fiddle's ult, you really want to make sure you aren't the first or even the second one in, if people have their stuns and knockbacks in reserve then can knock you to just about zero effectiveness quickly.

But also late game, physical carries are almost always going to be beating mages and any nontank is going to die very quickly. Anytime you have a mage heavy comp you have to win teamfights and push like crazy midgame.

Spoiler: Reasons

Cassiopeia has insane damage. Actually insane. And she does it even without strong farm. Her laning presence isn't the best, and her range is a bit on the short side, but she'll shred the tanky dps that dominate the metagame - ult them, then drop her spells on them and watch them melt. Her scaling is soooo goood. 0.9 on a 3 sec cd? .55 on a 0.5 sec cd? Only her w has iffy scaling, but it's a great utility spell anyway.

Nunu brings insane pressure in lane, akin to the current fotm lanewick. His biggest issue is mana, which he can sidestep via his passive. He'll use the extra gold from laning as opposed to jungling to get a bit more ap in his build, which will give him survive from consume, damage from iceball and ult. Potentially he could even be a decent babysitter in a duo lane, able to zone and absorb damage for a carry and being a terrifying source of extra cc when the jungler comes to gank.

Blitzcrank is the one I think is most interesting. He has two steroids - a double damage on next hit and an attack speed one. He gains mr/level and although his base armour is only ok, he'll have plenty of latent survive from his passive and a manamune (which gives something like 80AD when fully stacked.) I think the trend of getting triforce or sheen on him is iffy - I think his power fist probably gains more from flat ad. It's worth noting that power fist is double TOTAL ad, so he has two abilities that make extra ad really valuable on him. In 1v1s he'll have xin esque cc/damage/tankiness combo that beats just about anything. In teamfights he'll still have his amazing initiate and ridiculous sustained damage - and if he gets focused down, then people will come up against the fact that he scales so well defensively with just items like bv, manamune, frozen heart - any one of these pretty much makes him take a significant amount of time to kill. His laning is super strong and post ult his farming is decent.

Karma is hugely underrated. Shield/Heal is really good - really really good - in lane. Her skillset is beyond godly for supporting a strong initiating tank like alistar, amumu, malphite - drop a tether, when they're in the middle drop a shield for mad aoe deeps, and if they take any burst heal up with a shield. She has an aoe heal/damage ability - I don't think anyone has anything comparable - which is a huge swing ability in teamfights (probably better than any non-ultimate for turning teamfights). A perfect heavenly wave will be something like a 2000 health swing in teamfights - more with ap or if karma is at less than full health. A less good one will still be hitting for around 1k health swings. The cd is only 6 seconds anyway, so you can probably drop it twice in a fight. One mantra on a shield, two mantras on heavenly wave.

Rumble wins his lane. After he wins his lane, he does serious damage while being seriously tanky for a while - but then starts to fall off. If he doesn't manage to snowball/carry to victory off his early advantage, he'll be largely useless. His skillset is great for lategame backdooring though. Shield/ghost allows him to run from anything. Flamethrower with some ap clears creeps. All he needs is tower damage which the lich bane will provide.

BTW hito, why do you get a brutaliser on Corki? I can see the synergy with his gatling gun, but with just gatling gun and and arpen you'll be penetrating anything that has no armour built. Or if you want more pen, then you get more from a black cleaver. But arpen isn't that great on corki anyway, as half his abilities (and most especially his ult) do magic damage, so you're not getting that much out of it compared to on someone like xin zhao. I prefer sheen - early game burst, he needs the mana and he loves the eventual triforce. He doesnt mind the ap too much either - his ratios are not good, but the stats are not wasted. He's one of the few who likes every stat on a triforce including the movespeed. And if you're getting triforce, why not get sheen over brutaliser as your midgame item?

Try getting Magic items with survivability ex. Abyssal Scepter, Rylai's Blue Wand (forgot the name XD) Both those items have uniques that increase your damage output AND keep you on the less squishy side
I like getting Flash + Exhaust which give both survivability and greatly benefit your drain + ult. If their team has alot of interrupts i would suggest going for a banshee as a 3rd or even 2nd item (boots excluded)

Triforce will make you do more damage strictly on auto-attack, but Corki's main damage things are Gatling Gun, which does physical damage and scales off of your true AD, and Missile Barrage, which does physical damage and scales off of AD. Triforce is a lot of money to spend not making the number on Gatling Gun any bigger.

What's more, gatling gun although it is an amazing ability is amazing for the armour shred more so than its actual damage output. It scales ok at 1/2ad per second, but ad is expensive, and compared to mages dots that's pretty mediocre. No, gatling gun is great because a) it makes itself do more damage and b) it makes your right click do more damage. Triforce proc is physical - it benefits from gatling gun just as much as the rest of his abilities. But it's also useful when you're doing a lot of poking (something corki excels at - sitting at towers spamming rockets and getting one or two autos off strips so much health off the enemy team) where pure ad wont help very much.

Besides, if I was building to be more of an infighter, looking to get close enough to drop big gatling guns every teamfight instead of a hang back abuse my range type char, then I'd eventually be looking for a black cleaver. Black cleaver pretty much obsoletes brutaliser - between that and gatling gun 90% of things you'll be hitting will be at negative armour anyway and you'll be getting literally no use out of the arpen - either that, or between masteries and runes they'll be at zero without the brutaliser.

Corki benefits from all the stats on triforce in a way few other champions do. He likes the right click stats, he loves the movespeed (because of his abysmal base move speed), he doesn't mind the ap, and he loves the unique passive. Many champs like some of the stats but not all - corki isn't quite unique (ezreal) in gaining max benefit from it, but he's close to.

(oh and rockets has an ap ratio as well as an ad ratio - though a silly small one.)

TBH so much of corki's actual damage output is magical that I get the 15% magipen talent in the offence tree when speccing him (as well as the arpen talent).

The people on the sides are commentators and also there to prevent any destruction of side turrets.
