glowball wrote:Like what happens if

DonJosh's flip doesn't show two factions...what then?
What if you continuously lynch and there turns out to be one faction?
Then Spyrex gets killed and you get killed
and Umbrage is left- and now you've convinced people that your theory is right when there is nothing concrete about it

You can be wrong- you do realize that, right? I've even thought about it in reference to myself, and to ask me to follow you without concrete evidence of two factions is ridiculous. I am not following some theory on Day 1

-Night kills probably shine light on faction number if DJs flip doesn't
-We evaluate from there. Compare Umbrage to flipped scum and him to other scum reads. Make a decision at that point. Can't say for sure
-People carry on the torch, its up to people to decide for themselves if I am right or not about this. Enough people will have information though that it should all be fine.

I do realize I could be wrong, now you may be asking yourself "But Rainbow Dash! Aren't you the best at practically everything?" Well, yes I am, but I always could possibly be wrong and realize that, which is actually why I backed off Umbrage because I caught myself getting too locked into a tell that I feel is correct but still is unproven.

The game is basically all about theories, and we just differ on this one and it looks like neither of us are going to compramise on it. Continually bashing eachother with it, not going to help at all. Im just happier if I can get more information about a certain player first.

Rainbow: Where going to have a little chat about FA. I think your missing the pointless question that have lead no where since all he has is mostly null reads. It's called looking actively scum hunting while producing jack shit.

@glow: Please relax I for one have not let Umbrage off the scum block. There is more then the 2 faction comment. It's the lack of answering questions and pushing a bad case. He attacks those that attack him and hasn't put together a list of whom he finds scum.
The list goes on and on and declaring him slightly more town due to factions is a horrible mistake.

I have yet to see one decent case for DonJosh. Hell, I have yet to see one noteworthy thing DonJosh has done.

The scum are among the active players, I'm sure of it.
I'll explain it to you. You have to get someone else to understand it for you.

These scum claims given your levels of activity surpasses just about everyone elses, including basically your entire scum list?

Calling level of activity for scum is very difficult as again it will just boil down to playstyle. Regardless of alignment I tend to be pretty active and pushing my thoughts, im sure most lurker scum tend to be lurker town, unless activity is way off the norm for an alignment, its going to be a null tell.

@farside - If you want to try and convince me of FA go for it, but I still don't see myself backing that lynch for the time being.

The interaction between Glowball and Rainbow I find interesting.

I'm starting to feel a scummier vibe coming from Glowball.

I think Glowball is pushing just a little too hard for his lynch. Stating in one post that DonJosh is probscum, but yet he's not your number one choice for this day is ok. What I don't understand is how Umbrage will be off the hook tomorrow, or a much harder player to lynch. If umbrage continues to be scummy, there will be others who will support the lynch.

I feel as though DonJosh has almost given up. Why keep him around for the extra vote in a scum group? Umbrage is at least providing some of his thoughts and what not.

Actually not as much has happened as I thought.

I 100% agree with this:

glowball wrote:More often than not- scum deflect like this. Scum will answer questions posed by other scum or even defend scum. Umbrage came to DOnJosh's defense and instead of stating why- he tries pulls the feeler move and deflects the question onto Hiraki. Townies should not be concerned with what anyone else is doing- you don't know anyone's alignment, let alone everyone's thoughts on every player.

glow is being much more reasonable than I thought she was being earlier (except when she loses her shit, which is annoying). My read on her is changing with every post she has in favor of an Umbrage lynch and provides reasoning as to why it makes sense. I don't see Rainbow or Spyrex's points against an Umbrage lynch as being founded.

SpyreX wrote:Sigh its going to be one of these games.

What amount of bribes/poems/heartfelt wellwishes/lashes with a barbed whip will it take to stop the madness and get in a direction. Seriously now I see the edges crumbling and am fully expecting the world to be filled with sadness.

(Ignoring the whining) Control will not happen with this game with the players who are in it. That is why I have no faith in your plan to lynch anyone who grabs a power. Your idea of having a core group is a good idea but the only thing that can last in this game is resiliency, not control. And I'm hating the defeatist attitude you've had in other recent posts.

Umbrage wrote:Note how glowball only started saying I'm scum when I said she was scum. Hm hm hm?

But glow hasn't OMGUSed every player who's pointed suspicion at her. So what makes you such a special case?

@ Ray ... I feel similar to you with going back and forth with where I stand on Glowball. Although I feel that she's making a good point, I guess I'm just hesitant to agree with her. How do you feel about her wanting to flake out of the game because she can't get her way?

I'd feel more comfortable going after umbrage today instead of tomorrow if more of the town were on the same page. However, the three players that currently are voting for Umbrage aren't my top most likely town. Out of the seven voting for DonJosh, I'm damn near 100% sure of one player's townieness with two others following in a close second.

It's not so much that I don't support the wagon on Umbrage, I just don't support those pressing it as hard.

MOD
: Hey, sorry about my absense. Hopefully this means I can still play? I'll understand if you want to replace me anyway.

It's fine, I'm getting no bites on replacements except from people with no on-site experience so you can stay.

FTR: I looked at DJ's past history on MS. I didn't have tons of time but two games I found he flaked and he flipped VT.
I find so much opportuntism on the wagon. Example:
FourseenCircumstance wrote:Well I certainly agree with the wagon, I'd be darned to not be apart of it!

unvote. vote: DonJosh

Where as this dude been to say shit? The Umbrage wagon barely went anywhere and I see more opportunism and mostly seeing it as lurker hunting then scum hunting I would rather see Umbrage lynch if I can't get FA wagon going.

Just the general concept if that makes any sense, even with "pointless questions" it does actually generate a little bit of discussion, and they have developed reads on some of the poines I was having a harder time reading. If he keeps doing his thing, it will probably continue to help me nail down reads, eventually their own.

Remember what I said about unity being needed though to accomplish greater goals? Im serious about that.

It's easy to ask questions and look active while contributing little to the game. I've seen scum do this, hell I've done it as scum. I've caught scum because of it.

As for DJ. I want the following questions answered:

What happens if he flips town?
What information do we gain from his lynch?
Did anyone besides me look at his meta to see how little he cares for mafia?

1. Then we've lynched a lurker who wasn't contributing anything anyway, oh well?

2. Lots of information. More, I would definitely argue, than from Umbrage's, and we'd get a ton of information regardless of his flip. Whether town or scum, it will give us a way to look at who got on his wagon, when, how, what reason they gave, etc, to try and parse who is scum and who isn't. Because make no mistake - I honestly think DJ is scum, but I also honestly think that there are scum on this wagon. And any information regarding his alignment helps us determine who's who.

3. Meta is crap, in my opinion. You may have found two games where he flaked and flipped VT, but it's a logical fallacy to thus assume that in this game, because he's flaked then he must be VT. People can and do play to their meta regardless of their alignment, so it's at best null.

NanookTheWolf wrote: I think Glowball is pushing just a little too hard for his lynch. Stating in one post that DonJosh is probscum, but yet he's not your number one choice for this day is ok. Ok, this is how we're going to run Magical Christmasland:

1. Drinking
2. Listening to SpyreX
3. Lynching Scum

gogogo

@mikehart: if I feel the need to push a case, you'll have full reasons then... I'll rustle up some preliminary stuff. Until that point, they are slated for death by any means necessary and I will push with my clique, yo.

---------------------

From the pages of Nixon's diary:
bobsnox: wants to see who Beck suspects? WTF

DonJosh: Christ

Flavour Analysis: asking whole wagons questions tell + really dumb posting

Fourseen Circumstance: odd

glowball: crazy aggressive, the bad kind. also, calling Umbrage out for "two teams slip" may have more info than a town would at this juncture

PeregrineV: lol

Ray Montano: finding inconsistencies in traits, not in game

Umbrage: not on the same team as me

Bogre: weeeeeeeeeeird
chkflip: stupid questions, didn't answer immediately
mikehart: rough start, improving

inHim: what the hell was wrong with k e n d a l l
NanookTheWolf: Towntowntowntowntowntowntowntowntown
SnakeSide: good defense of k e n d a l l, odd pushing otherwise

SpyreX, I am disinclined to acquiesce with your request to let FA in our bloc. :|
