I have a game where i disconnected when malzahar ulti me having no health left. i connected back and found that i've survived that gank. is it true that i can disconnect to avoid dying?

Or try people who have 1 win in PvP games, who have levelled to 30 on AI games only, then jump straight into Ranked and then call everyone else bad while they go 0/4/0 with Morde solo top.

I do play HoN, but that's with my brothers and his friends. I don't see them too often, and I talk with most of you at least a few times a week; thus, LoL gains my favor.

You've got that backwards. The smart people play LoL not HoN. I can see how you'd get confused, since one is a shitty port of DotA and the other is a variant on DotA that's actually fun.

That's a fair amount, but it is probably 99% of what you'll need to read ever. Another good idea would be to take some replays and look over them, either yourself or by asking someone stronger.

Spoiler: Semi-long post explaining my HoN v LoL opinion

Really though, HoN is good. It's just not my cup of tea, and my personal opinion is that they tried to stay too close to DotA, while missing a huge opportunity to create something that they could call theirs. This is where (and why) I think Riot succeeded as well as they have. They have a game that, while in the same genre with many of the same mechanics, is somewhat unique.

I also think HoN killed themselves right off the bat by being $40 up front, when LoL launched free. While in the past year and a half, LoL has cost me well over $200, where HoN would have been $40, I still actively choose LoL, since it's an F2P game. HoN switching to F2P recently just looks exceptionally bad on them, since it looks like they are just desperate for players (which is likely true, HoN is going to take the biggest hit from DotA2, since the two are so similar)

And yeah, I suck at the whole "not feeding the troll" thing.

I still think I will enjoy HoN more than dota as HoN will have a more fast-paced ganking meta. Maybe that will not be the case though as Na'Vi (dota 2 champs) beat those silly asian ricers with a heavy gank strat.
