To my knowledge, there shouldn't be a numbers plan, unless we wanted to massclaim and smalltown it, but I don't think that is a good idea, really. I designed this setup with SpyreX. We changed the draft to eliminate most of the number theory/neighbourhood analysis, so it's more based on scumhunting.
So, who are we wagoning at the moment? Lets see...

Can you explain that? Are you meaning like 3 popcorn claims, or work down the list of roles themselves?

I was thinking three popcorn claims.
There's an alternative claiming idea, which is that all first claim the amounts that we bid, in the same order at the things we bid on appear in the first post and then in a second claim, cliam what we bid on.
Either of these should catch scum in lies, and at worst, generate a reasonably small pool of people who could be good lynches or who are on 1 v 1's.I have secret plans and clever tricks.- The Enormous Crocodile.- David Xanatos

That's actually a really good idea.. one question though.
Am I right in thinking if there's a tie for the highest bid, the role's just removed from the game? If so, then that plan would work I think, if not, couldn't Scum just claim a clashing high bid?~ David Xanatos ~

How exactly will this prove someone to be scum? The only way you can prove this is if scum lie about their bids. Even then, if they wanted to lie, they could just bid under a known number that exists of their partner's, or a number in the thread that is already claimed.
I think massclaim is more dangerous given that most players will have only one or two powers. Power spread across more people means we'll be playing in a mostly mountainous setup from Day 3 onward. But on N1 and N2, you can't exactly make solid plans as there are too many variables to control. It seems suboptimal to massclaim D1.- Zdenek

Neither will necessarily prove anyone to be scum, but it could. In either scenario, I expect that we'll end up with some 1 v 1's, and small groups of people that are sure to contain scum.
In the first scheme, scum would be forced to lock themselves into what they bid on first, then on what they actuallly got. Their numbers will have to agree with this. Considering that we all presumably used all 100 of our points, they might have to argue for some strange bids to get the numbers to work out if they want to lie.
In the second scheme, they'd be locked in to the amounts that they bid from the start, and partially locked in to what they actually bid on because of the order rules.I have secret plans and clever tricks.- The Enormous Crocodile.- Cogito Ergo Sum

Don't think it's worth it.
As we run scummy people up to claim over the next few Days, we might catch scum in a lie regardless and it seems to me that the type of scum that has good long-term survival prospects has probably made sure they can claim some townie-looking bids (quite possibly by simply making townie-looking bids).Scumchat is awesome. Your plan helps scum way more than it helps town. It's all WIFOM. You are looking for what you *think* scum would have taken and that is weak scum hunting at its best. Plus it will reveal roles that town have to scum so they know who to pick off.-------------------------------------

I don't classify that as weak scumhunting. He got it wrong in terms of it being beneficial to town, but it is indicative of town mindset. He is thinking outside of the box. Scum don't do this early in the game - if anything,yourmindset is indicative of scum. You've pounced on something that appeared to be a negatively received idea, while ignoring the motivation behind the idea. This is lazy/negligent at best and opportunistic at worst.
I'm going to requote this line though;
Unless I've gone crazy, this looks like you're addressing Zdenek. Whilst doing so, you're applying town motivations to him -"You are looking for what you think scum would have taken..."- which could be subconscious knowledge of youknowingZdenek is town slipping into your post.- Juls

And you're jumping on someone for actually scum hunting. Since when is "claiming" thinking outside of the box? His plan makes life super easy for scum. There is little to no benefit to town. The line you keep beating your drum about "You are looking for what you think scum would have taken..." is exactly what I mean. When we all massclaim it just becomes a big ball of WIFOM (which is also beneficial to scum). I guarantee that if scum perceive that a townie took an ability that is scum-beneficial that scum would jump on that as something scummy, thus the weak scum hunting.-------------------------------------
