Flash isn't shit if you're good enough with it but I failed at flashing up walls at river enough times with the old one to not want to try to with the new version >.>
Plus I've been playing Noc a lot and his fear range nerf isn't bad IF you get ghost instead of flash to make sure you stay in range of fast characters/people with slows/etc so I've been using that instead.

because a free blink is a get out of jail free card, and just in general flash will always either be OP or useless

I find ghost to be useable as that, too, and it's actually useful for chasing, so it was my pick of choice even before the nerfs to flash.

Flash bear stun among other things is one of the most powerful ganks in the game.

There are characters you need surprise on, not IM RUNNIN AT YOU REALLY FAST on. FLash tibbers, flash etc.

5sec cooldown reduction! Compared to 0.2 ap per level? Or 0.66 critical strike chance?

anyway, they cleaned that up. You can go full caster, full jungler etc with these masteries. Less useless points spent because you want a higher rank.

Speaking of full. Going surge exhaust allows you to build a 30 attack mastery killer hybrid katarina, teemo, irealia, nasus, akali, and jax.
Jax is someone I want to talk about. Surge exhaust 30 attack masteries with full dodge yellows move speed blues and quints and attack damage reds makes a hybrid jax completely viable again!

The armor and magic pen masteries plus exhaust doubling that with a surge going and all the life steal and ad and ap and and that new ap% increase and the cdr in the attack tree makes hybrid jax so amazing now.

Before surge jax was shit if not fed. I loved jax before but ap jax was best. Now hybrid is deffinitly the best and even if he doesnt farm or get fed well he is still fine.

To put it one way, it will be easier to rise ELO with nooblets provided I carry with a mega snowballer like Sion or Xin.

Anyway, If I win with one more different champ I will have officially have won with over 1/4 of the champs in ranked. Played Malph for the first time in ranked yesterday. I did not miss or missjudge 1 ult all game. I babysat like a boss and denied their carry farm and exp for so long while making sure mine was safe from ganks by bodyblocking skillshots and slowing ms and as so that we always got away. I just bought malph because of how much fun he was.

His ult's range is still kinda buggy, so unless you flash right on top of them, you're going to get a pull easier with ghost and get more distance from the pull while you're ghosting than you will from flash. You don't need ghost to stick to people though because of your permaslow with q.

No, hybrid jax has always been the best. AD has done more for him than ap for awhile, but he kinda needs both. I feel very discouraged from playing jax lately though since he has gotten some form of indirect nerf (or direct nerfs) for the past like 7 patches. It hurts me.

Another char im absolutely loving: Fizz.

This guy is so insanely fun to play with he's got elements of so many champs it's hard to say who he's like.

I'm currently building him AP, i may try out the true damage / AD build posted earlier at some point.

I'm currently building him as follows:

Boots of speed + Health pots
Catalyst then into RoA
upgrade boots to Merc treads
Scepter
Deathcap
hourglass

With this build i've been doing fairly well, i usually give away 2 or so deaths in the early game, but i've come to expect this now and it's fine, i soon make up for it stats:

9/13/10 (first game)
21/15/19
11/5/7
8/2/6

I had one very bad game but it was down to a fail on top lane and a few fed chars running around eating face. 3/7/12
