Having Morgana on your team is good against Veigar. You just shield whatever he tries to burst down.

The only downside I can see for veigar vs morgana is it seems like a fairly easy lane for him to farm in, but in general I expect morg is going to get more farmed in the lane, be able to freely roam,

be able to black shield and walk through stun circle

(also black shield bruisers), be able to balck shield and protect against burst and generally be a big threat in teamfights that's kinda hard to burst due to her penchant for building tanky. IDK, I guess there are better picks to lane against veigar but she's not a bad one.

Bolded means the veigar isn't good at stunning. The cast is actually near instant, so the only reason why morg can black shield it is or you didn't aim right, or you didn't see morg put the shield up.

As for the shielding someone to survive bit, generally as veigar, if you are allowed the farm, those extra 400 hitpoints on their carry aren't going to make the difference. You've got plenty of damage midgame to blow up that ashe/mf/whoever with or without that shield.

Of the casters, I can only think of one which might be more suitable then morg for veigar, and that's karthus, who is pretty much the weakest laner if you want to show any aggression. And morde, perhaps.

Except that competent Veigars should be perfectly happy that you're letting them freefarm under their tower.

Which is why you pick him against champs who's main quality in lane is that they push very hard and can't force fights very well. Annie can force fights, hence it's a better pick against veigar. Even if veigar manages to land the stun against her, early levels it isn't long enough to avoid having annie walk in right after that to return the favor to him.

But sure. If your team lets Veigar walk up to the carry and get his whole combo off without the stun then the Morg was a bad pick

Even though the stun is instant, Veigar tends to telegraph what he's up too. Shield also means if you're caught in the middle you can walk away no problem, and can be cast on self if you want to just run at him to try and ult into burst him down. If you're really scared you can just cast it when you want to come forward to drop your pool.

In a teamfight, black shield is 5 seconds worth of time where your target can't be CCed, that's huge. Veigar's big thing is trying to blow up a squishy near the start of a teamfight, that becomes alot harder if one of them has 700-800 more health against you and basically can't be hit by your meteor. Do you throw out your stun anyway and try to kill a suboptimal target, do you wait the 5 seconds before making your move? That's easily enough time for the other team to kill you.

Veigar in teamfights is very dependent on his combo, if he gets trolled out of it by a shield, a QSS or anything, his sustained damage is fairly poor and his CC takes a long time to come back up.

Riots continuing trend of ignoring laneUdyr and Ryze fills me with confusion and joy in equal measure.

Edit: Game 1: Came back from a 300 point deficit. Game 2 was a 26 min long game of Dominion and ended 7-0. Ryyyzzzeeee is too much fun on that map.

Anyone on DOTA 2 here? It has really been a long time coming since I last played DOTA because a lot of my usual game buddies have already decided to hang up their mouse and keyboard.

I am excited to see what new things have been added and what has been changed and removed. Haven't seen any of the working trailers though which should really be interesting considering how things are probably to work better that way.
