Behavior:
1) This is a game. Please try to act in a respectful manner towards everyone.
2) Play to win, but also to have fun. See rule 1.
3) Try to keep the profanity to a minimum. I don't mind a bit, but keep rule 1 in mind.
4) Do not quote any communications with the mod or other players. If you have a question about whether something is acceptable, ask me.
5) You may not talk about this game outside the thread unless your role allows.
6) Do not edit or delete your posts if you are somehow able to. If I catch you, you will be modkilled.
7) Do not mention any QuickTopics you may or may not be a part of. You may paraphrase discussions that you had, but don't mention a QT(Rule 4).
Activity Levels and Prods:
8) I expect everyone to post approximately every 72 hours. Failure to do so will result in a prod. The more I prod you, the less I will like you.
9) Not picking up a prod within 7 days will result in replacement.
10) If you expect to be V/LA for a bit, please let me know so I don't prod/replace you.
Voting, Lynches, and Deadlines:
11) Please vote in bold, such as
11.5) If I think it's a vote, it's a vote.
12) A lynch will require a majority of available votes. Once a majority is reached, no further votes/unvotes will be counted.
12.5) You may vote to no lynch. No lynch will require enough votes to make it impossible for the town to lynch anyone else. For example, if there are 20 people alive, it will take 11 votes to lynch, but only 10 votes to No Lynch because no majority can be reached on anyone else.
13) Day deadlines will range from 10 days to 16 days. If this game is ahead of the other games, you'll get the longer deadline for both day and (particularly) night. If this game is behind the other games, you'll get the shorter deadline. If the game is in the middle of the other games, you'll get something in-between
14) Posting in twilight(aka the pre-final vote count of the day time) is acceptable, for both the lynchee and everyone else.
15) Once your death scene is posted, you may make only one "Bah" post. Make sure it has no game relevant information, or someone on your team will be punished for your screw-up.
16) You may request a vote count at any time in the thread or via PM. Please do not spam requests for them every other post. I will try to do them on every page that I can, but no promises as to it being every page.
17) All deadlines will be at 11 PM Eastern on the day of the deadline
Miscellaneous:
18) Night deadlines will range from 24 hours to 72 hours If this game is behind the other games, you'll get the shorter deadline. If this game is in the middle of the other games, 48 hour Nights, 14 day Days
19) If you fake breaking a rule, it will incur the same punishment as actually breaking the rule.
20) If you believe I have made a small mistake, for example, in a vote count, please point it out in thread. If you have a more serious grievance for some reason, PM me. Leave it out of the thread.
21) My word is final. If you have a problem with it, see rule 20.
22) I reserve the right to add rules if something comes up that I do not expect.
23) The townie role PM is:
Role PM wrote:You are a townie. All you have is your vote and your voice. You win when all threats to the town have been killed.
The full set of rules governing Team Mafia 2012 and its games are available here. The sections pertaining to discussion of other Team Mafia 2012 games and of teammates are quoted below for convenience:
Talking About Other Games
- Players may mention other games only to talk about things that have been mod confirmed such as what a player flipped when they were killed. They may not speculate about another game's players (such as who is scummy and so forth). You may not talk about how bad a wagon was, etc. You must keep it to only the information provided by the moderator.
- To reiterate: speculation about other games is prohibited.
- Any attempt to try to signal to another game what they should or should not do is against the rules.
- Attempts to be "clever" and circumvent these rules will be treated harshly. We will "pierce" hypothetical questions or answers, ignoring the hypothetical nature and assume that it is meant to be a factual statement.
- A major violation is defined as one that has the potential to be game breaking. For example, if your teammate is dead and flipped town, posting about who is scummy in that game will be a major violation.
- Explicitly Allowed: You may mention who is on each team. You may mention what stage (e.g. Day 2) a game is in. You may mention how many players are left alive from a team, including your own. You may mention how many scum have been killed/alive in a particular game (or town alive/killed), knowing that all games are 10v3 or 9v3. You may talk as much as you wish about a game that is finished.
- None of this applies to your team QT. You may post what you wish in there.
Your Teammates Are Always Innocent Until Proven Guilty
- You may at no time say, indicate, insinuate, etc. that your Team Mafia teammates are or might be anything other than town. This includes in any hypothetical situation.
- Exception: You may talk about your teammates being scum if they have flipped scum in another game (i.e. are dead).
- If a player is NOT on your team and is still alive in another game, you must follow the rules in the Talking About Other Games section. In other words, you may not speculate on a player's alignment in another game.
