We will never lynch 10 of those 12 lurkers because they dont say anything scummy or towny. The last 15 players will consist of 10 lurkers. If there are scum in those lurkers it will be a crapshoot then to figure out which ones are scum and we will probably lose.

I'm finding it entertaining how I've gone from L-10 to L-1 while I was asleep.
I don't think anything I say will stop the wagon now, pretty hard to defuse an L-1 on yourself I gather, so I'll just say that it was fun while it lasted. Also that Matt I'm reading as scum, simply for this whole "voting list" thing - scum know who's scum in that list, and forsaking one or two scum for the sake of getting rid of, what, 10 townies? Seems like a good payoff to me.

Not sure what I think about this lurker chain lynching idea. If it hits 2 or 3 scum its probably worth it. I'm just worried we get through the first 2 or 3 and hit townies and people start getting cold feet and stop going through with it after that. Then it becomes kinda pointless. And we stay with the list already posted, we don't go adjusting it now after scum lurkers start posting more before their number's up. I guess I'm ok with it for the reasons given. If all those lurkers are town, there's no way we'd ever win this game anyways. But only if people are going to stick with it even if the first few are on town. Because this is certainly going to take out a lot of town..

Meanwhile, this lurker lynch plan is interesting, and seems to make sense in theory (if we went around lynching only vocal people, we'd end up with scum killing the other vocal people and an endgame of only lurkers and people who'd flaked). Something I'm a little concerned about, though, is scum manipulating their activity in order to avoid being right at the bottom of the list; they have much more incentive to not be apathetic than town. (Perhaps this can be avoided by lynching people even if their activity increases, but that's problematic for a different reason, especially many people apparently just had a holiday weekend.)
