Yes, in the minute chance he happens to hit executioner there is little meaning to what that says unless he manages to hit Executioner on a nightthat scum both picked one of their own *and* decided to lie about it and/or do something with it that was provably scummy.
The "best" I see for it is a very limp-wristed threat to scum to occasionally pick town Executioners.
Worst I see - is that it's a scum fakeclaim that will let him cruise deeper into the game than he deserves.
Neither one really deserves consideration on whether he is a good lynch suspect.- Mastermind of Sin

The last time I avoided lynching someone cause they had a claim that was very weak and fit nicely with the flavor they flipped ended up being scum. Not falling for that again.
Honestly, it is best to lynch scummy players for being scummy. There aren't many situations that justify NOT lynching a pr claim if the player is acting very scummy.
UNVOTE: theshadow He still is the person who most deserves to hang right now, but ending the day this early when quite a few players have not had a chance to contribute is not going to help us. Not going to give him the chance to selfhammer at the moment.
VOTE: bastion He is still scummy, I only unvoted him earlier because like with shadow, it doesn't appear safe to leave people at L-1 now days.
VOTE: doomyoshi I approve of this wagon.
Yeah, I'd be fine with seeing either shadow, bastion, or yoshi get lynched sometime later today.
----------
@mos, what is your read on shadow, not on his claim, but on his play. Do you find his play today townish or scummy?
@shadow, who are the scum on your wagon, who are the town on your wagon.Sarcasm isnota scumtell.- Knight of Cydonia

You just hammered him. After stating that ending the day this early "is not going to help us."

I haven't read his posts in depth, DCLXVI. I find absolutely no need to do so given the fact that his very role justifies the setup's existence and pulls it all together. What would be the point of having an Executioner who could never be identified be appointed by scum when you could just say that the scum get to execute/save a person of their choice and then send the other two to the judge and jury? The mere fact that the Executioner *could* be town justifies the existence of a role that forces the scum to think about whether they want to nominate one of their own to be Executioner. Otherwise it would be a no-brainer and the setup itself would be rather bland.
P-Edit: I don't think KoC knows what *unvote* means.Permanent V/LA.- Thor665

Why the SMURF would you want that, Thor?
1. It's not really a deterrent.
2. Because the player in the slot that claimed said role looks scummy.
Just because someone claims a role that might be, if you squint, slightly useful, doesn't mean you are supposed to give them a no lynch pass for over half the game regardless of what they're doing.
If you think he looks town, fine, call the lynch stupid and carry on.
If you think he looks scum, lynch away.
But don't change your opinion because of him claiming a weak role of nothingness. That's the point.

@MoS - the basis of the setup is a role that is highly unlikely to even work?- DCLXVI

WTF?
It is a role that starts off with a 1/17 (roughly 5.8%) chance of working and doesn't get much better. And you say that it "pulls it all together."Sarcasm isnota scumtell.- Mastermind of Sin

I dunno, if we flip all three people for two days in a row then the chance of spooting the Exe goes to a nice 9% chance or so...pretty sweet, really.
Of course, by that point I'm pretty sure we're not allowed to have a jury anymore, since there won't be enough people, and therefore we won't have an Executioner anymore either.
But, yeah, the role pulls it ALL together. You should probably shut up before you look dumb DC - go back to suggesting that you need to unvote a scum read for fear he'll self hammer, that makes more sense.- Mastermind of Sin

I don't think I am hammered...
Anyways, I was wrong about my case on Thor. I guess this is the problem with double votes, the hammer is already dropped before the case is over.
I understand MoS saying the role makes sense, and I have believed the role since the beginning. I notice shadow went from suicidal to yoshi stomping though.- Mastermind of Sin
