This girl claimed she had been chosen by God. She took control of the armies of Dauphin in 1429, changing the course of the Hundred's Year War. God had come to her, she said, and told her that she alone should recover her homelands, brutally taken away by the English. Then, she was captured.

The girl sweated a little in the chair. Was this God's will? Was he testing her?

The year was 1271. Marco Polo, along with his father Niccolò and his uncle Maffeo, had embarked on voyage to meet with Kublai Khan. Arriving three and a half years later, the Polos were welcomed into Khan’s palace. They presented him with the sacred oil of Jerusalem. Having the ability to speak four languages would be very useful for Kublai Khan. Marco left Khan’s palace in high spirits, ready to retire to his quarters for the night.

The next day, Marco and his family returned to the Khan’s palace, and asked him to leave China with them. The Khan refused, and this meant that the Polos were worried. They wondered if they left China, and the Khan was to pass away, would they be killed for being friends with him? He left the palace again, and wanted to get back to Venice as soon as he could.

He never got there. One day, he was stabbed repeatedly. He died.

He had plenty of battlefield experience, serving under the King of Wu, King Helü, and most of these battles he won. He decided to get his thoughts down on paper, and so began the laborious task of writing

He had been writing for a number of years, and finally, he had finished. Sighing contentedly to himself, Sun Tzu allowed himself a small smile. Ever since he had passed the test that King Helü had put in front of him, when he had to make a harem of 180 concubines into soldiers, his methods had never been questioned. Destroying enemy after enemy, Tzu’s armies were feared all across China.

Tzu heard a noise. He wasn’t worried, he was in a camp full of people. It was the second noise, a dull click, that made the general stiffen. He began to rise as gunshots rang out, in quick succession. Sun Tzu had been slaughtered. By an AK-47. In 490 BC.
